Dreams and Lucid Dreaming confusing me.

      1. For the past 2 days I've had some weird occurrences in my dreams. The first time I was taking a nap during the day, I "Woke Up" and found my body was unable to move and the sound was sort of blury I can barely remember it. I thought it was a nice time to try to have an astral projection experience because I always tell myself that if I can't move my body then I must try to astral project. I rocked my body left and right, but my body did not move. I could feel it rocking back and forth, but my real body stayed still. I realized that I may actually be doing it and after a few tries my spiritual body fell off of the couch and I woke up. I realized that maybe I didn't astral project, but it felt so right. Even if this was not actually happening and was a dream, I never had this happen before nor was I even thinking about astral projection before. In fact not only have I haven't thought about Astral Projection in months, I never attempted it or read about it since then.

      2. This one is a mixture of a few days ago and a few hours ago. It's like when I am sleepy and/or when I wake up but decided to go back to sleep. My hearing get's all blurry and weird and I can feel this buzzing. When I finally do go to sleep I wake up on the couch, on the couch, yet I am still asleep. The past few times I dream about this multiple times(dream about being in the same place). I am having weird Lucid Dreaming situations. I also had a dream where I knew I was dreaming, but I could barely see. I could see myself in a sort of over the shoulder kind of way like always but there was a black-gray filter. I even tried to fly but it failed. Anyway, I was trying to understand this "State of Mind" I get into.

So your lucid dreams are blurry? I would try rubbing your hands and saying "More clarity please!". This will usually give you better, clearer vision in a lucid dream.

I'd say there are a few possibilities.

You could be becoming conscious and lucid during non-dream periods of sleep. This is possible and can result in odd sensations like you describe because the brain is at least partially disconnected from the body's sensory input. External, physical sensations may be weak, and there can be a lot of “noise” from false, hallucinary sensations.

You could be having a NREM dream, which, unlike the REM dreams we usually remember, can have a lack of vivid visual imagery but contain a lot of internal thoughts or emotional feelings and otherwise seem a bit “weird” compared to “normal” dreams.

Sometimes (either as a medical condition like sleep paralysis or just on rare occasions in healthy individuals) it's possible to partially or fully wake up while the body is still in REM atonia, a paralyzed state. This state normally happens during dreams to prevent our physically acting them out, but sometimes can linger a bit too long and persist briefly into consciousness. But it's also possible that the sensation of being paralyzed isn't actual REM atonia but a sensory illusion from dreams or the hypnagogic hallucinations during nondream sleep.

You also appear to have described a phenomenon that sounds like false awakenings, where you dream of waking up but are actually still asleep. This can happen several times in a row before actually waking up.

All of these are quite normal and nothing to worry much about. I've encountered pretty much all of them several times over the years. Most people never notice them because we're normally unconscious during sleep (other than dreams), but those who practice LDing will probably be especially likely to notice them simply because the whole goal is to train themselves to become more self-aware during sleep. They can be quite fascinating and fun things to explore, so go ahead and continue to experiment with them when they occur.
