Greetings, dream enthusiasts. I consider myself somewhat of a veteran when it comes to lucid dreaming, but something I never delved too deeply into (mainly because I had no solid success) is the whole subject of dream guides. There may be other threads around that I'm unaware of, but nevertheless I wish to pose my own questions to those more informed.

Before I start, I wish to express that I'm treating this theoretically, as I'm a bit skeptical towards to whole thing, but then again anything is possible in a dream so why wouldn't it be a thing, right? I've always been envious of those who profess to have a single or multiple dream guides. I don't think I've ever encountered one. I have met DC's who have said yes when asked if they're my guide, but have never surfaced since, nor really been of any benefit to me.

So, my questions are these:

1. How does one go about meeting/"contracting" with a dream guide?

2. Can a dream guide be created? Or a dream character that has been manually created/already in existence become a dream guide if the dreamer wishes it?

3. Is their appearance consistent? Does consistent appearance require input from the dreamer, either long term or short term?

4. What can a dream guide do? Can it instill lucidity, for instance?

I've had a goal for a while that entails visiting a place I created in my mind, a long time ago. There's a DC I've also created but never made contact with, who I expect to reside in this place. I'm wondering if I can bestow the title of dream guide upon this character.

Hope you guys can shed some light on my questions.
