Lightbulb Reverse Engineering Your Dream Signs

I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried to consciously create a Dream Sign in WL and then successfully been able to trigger lucidity from it? By this I mean deciding on some specific imagery, such as a red shoe or whatever, and then repeatedly visualising this during MILD/meditation/after RCs and associating this with the realisation you're dreaming. So trying to plant a dream sign yourself, instead of trying to identify things as dream signs you currently have.

I wonder if doing this consistently enough for a month or so would infiltrate your subconscious!

Newbie lurker here btw. Also new to LDs (had 2 very brief MILD ones). Seems like a brilliant community here, love that I've found it. Hello

Sure, this is possible! It's known as dream incubation. A couple of times I have consciously created a dream sign of hearing somebody walking towards my room upon waking up at night. I was able to dream about this and become lucid. I also recall intentionally becoming lucid a couple of times by noticing my alarm clock looking off upon waking up at night.

I did all of this just through intention and it just took me a few nights at most. However, I naturally have false awakenings so it might be easier for me to do this than others.

This gives me an idea, though: if during a dream we subconsciously decide when to wake up and this decision can remind us of a stronger intention to dream about waking up, then we can trick our mind into dreaming about waking up by setting a strong enough intention to do so.

Maybe picking a dream sign and setting a strong intention to notice this dream sign upon waking up would do the trick.

Hi! Ah yes I've heard of that term, although I thought it was just about visualising the dream you want to have. I guess it is actually the same concept combined with dream signs! Great to know that it is possible.
