      Why Do We Do This?

I am still trying to wrap my head around all of this. I realized right away that to be successful at lucid dreaming I would need to make a major commitment to its practice. I have done that and I am seeing the results. Now I am looking at ways to incorporate it into my life for the long run.....which is, basically, the final third of my life.

So I have asked myself that question. Why? I know my answer. But what about you folks who have been doping this for years? What made you make that commitment and, more importantly, what are you getting back from that commitment.

How has lucid dreaming changed your life?

I appreciate everybody's forbearance with me as a newbie with all these questions.

Right now I can't remember why I got into lucid dreaming in the first place, but my reason for being into it now (and especially into astral projection) is my conviction that life is a kind of temporary trap with a one-way door out, which is what most people will one day use, but another revolving door that normally only opens when lucid during sleep. On the other side of these doors lies the main world.

What I get out of it ... well, mainly I get my mind blown on a regular basis. And to me it feels like I'm peeling off the secrets of the universe, bit by bit.

So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

I like that. I also like the concept of a revolving door.

You are six years into this journey....I am in my sixth week. Pondering what I have in front of me.

Well, I've been doing this for years. For me, I go about it my own way. One thing I know for sure: The way I Lucid dream is probably not the same way that everyone else's way of dreaming. For me, I don't really remember exactly why but, I do remember being aware and controlling my dreams at a young age.

Yeah, that sounds about right. But, what do I know?

I'm getting the general idea that it's like that for everybody.

I know in my short time I have been doing things a bit differently than anything I have been reading....but it's working, so.......
