That she's free to do anything her heart desires, as long as she believes she can do it? |

One time I asked my mom about lucid dreams after watching Vanilla Sky. She says she has, but she hates feeling of knowing she is dreaming. She thinks its scary. |

“The sleep is still in my eyes
The dream is still in my head
I heave a sigh and sadly smile
And lie a while in bed
I wish that it might come to pass
Not fade like all my dreams” —Rush
What a waste... I don't think you can say any single sentence that will instantly change her mind. Just have a long talk with her when you have the time. Tell her more about Lucid Dreaming. Of course she will try to avoid the subject, that's why you're going to push it on her agressively until she has no choise but to listen. She'll probably dismiss most of it, but she'd stil listen, at least. Hopefully, her curiosity will pick up from there. |

Thats ok, my mom thinks LD's are evil, and she starts praying when I mention them around her. |

The best you could do would be to explain to her the possabilities of Lucid dreaming. Other than that it is up to her to make of it what she wants |
