      A Course In Miracles

Just curious if anyone here has read any of the course? I myself will be starting quite soon, I hope.

Please share your thoughts if you have.

Google is your friend in this case. There is too much too talk about, plus, I'm no expert myself.

It would be a Miracle if people would actually get brains and stop filling the wallets of people in exchange for nothing. If you are braindead, then I'll certainly recommend you to take that course - you might miraculously grow a brain! But then again, if you're brainless than you have probably decided to take the course anyway, with or without my advice.

There was a book called "the Miracle Detective" by an editor of the rolling stone magazine. He interviewed the author of "Course of Miracles" She is quite ashamed of it now. It is entirely a product of her heated imagination.

It's entire premise is that "Wishes can come true". If we believe hard enough, anything can happen.

So why in the twenty some years that the Course has been around has there not been a single Miracle. Well, they always have an answer for that. Everybody has a lack of Faith.

Indeed, the Doctrine of Faith, though presented as a positive doctrine, has always been used in the Negative Sense for Explainging why Religion does not work as advertised. It is never the fault of the Teaching or Doctrine. It is always the Fault of the Student of Follower for having no Faith.

so "Faith" becomes the excuse for the Religious Fraud.

Any genuine Teaching will not require Faith. If you do certain things, then certain results will automatically follow. True Religion is exactly like Engineering. Faith is not required. You only need to get things right.

But the Course of Miracles is entirely built upon Faith, therefore it is readily discernable as being a blatant fraud. And again, the author of it has sincerely apologized, but unfortuanately the property rights for the book are so valuable that it has turned into an industry that simply can't be stopped. It is generating too much money to stop it now.

Faith brings determination which is why it is so useful. It allows people to believe that they can do anything and are more likely to accomplish something without doubt.

It is not a lack of faith, but a lack of action. Miracles have happened all over. You may not recognize it, but all over the world in the lives that people don't notice amazing things are happening.

So many variables, so little knowledge.

Whatever - It's just that three sentence threads don't exactly motivate me to do anything. But, okay...

A Course In Miracles (\"ACIM\") is a book on spiritual principles, alleged to have been written by none other than the person of Jesus Christ. [/b]
I got this far into the article about it and stopped right there. Seems like a load of rubbish to me.

I'm talking about Magnitude One Miracles. Christ like Miracles. the kind of things we can do in Dreams, but in real life. Levitate. Walk on water. Multiplication of Food. Modifying weight, dimension, visibility.

And Faith is useless for doing any of these things. Just look at those who take psychotropic drugs and are convinced that they can fly when they jump off the roof of a high rise building. heck, that was plenty of faith, wasn't it. They still dropped like rocks.

But we have a History of many Saints having been able to do such things, in front of thousands of witnesses. And it wasn't Faith. It was Agency. Saints are people who have been able to merge into the Collective of Heaven which gives them use of the Agnecy of certain Angels, Principalities and Powers. They have Joined the Company of God and so enjoy certain Company Benefits. Other people have been able to summon lesser earth spirits for lesser powers and abilities. some Demonologists summon demons, though that would be quite a disagreeable partnership I would imagine.

So, no, faith is nothing. Wishing does not make things come true. One must find something that works and follow it through paying attention to all of the essential details. Believing won't help. Faith won't help. Doing everything correctly is the only thing that will do any good.

What must one do to perform miracles. Well, one must win the sponsorship of heaven and the elemental angels. all of the First Magnitude Saints say that this can only be done by completely surrendering one's individual will to the Will of Heaven. So we have a Spiritual Paradox operating here. You will never be able to perform a Miracle while you are still you... while you are a separate individual... while you are self-centered. The Ego must disappear. When the Ego is gone and God Consciousness takes its place, adjunct to the Collective Consciousness, giving that body the Great Knowledge, even the supernatual knowledge that the First Magnitude Saints are known, then the elemental Angels will certainly serve the God Consciousness that now resides unobstructed in that your former body.

But that is theory. Some hints of the old persona survive, but the Center of Control must have to have shifted from Self to Godself.

But Faith can do none of this. One must know what to do and do it.
