Talking to sub-conscious in a lucid dream

Has anyone tried communicating directly with their sub-conscious in a lucid dream?

Here's something interesting to try in your next lucid dream:

When you find that you're lucid, say that when you turn around you will see a person that represents your sub-conscious, then turn around.

Then have a conversation with this person. Maybe it'll be quite interesting? Try asking things like: do you know what time it is in the real world? how long have you been asleep? when was the last time you had a glass of Pepsi? what do you want for supper tomorrow? what do you think Dad would like for Christmas--has he mentioned anything in the past few months?

I wonder if you would get some interesting, accurate answers from your sub-conscious?

Maybe you could even tell this person that you want to become lucid every time you dream, or that you want to have better recall from now on, and such. Also have the person confirm all these orders by repeating them, to make sure they're burned in memory. Don’t forget to thank him/her for his/her cooperation.

I imagine this would be quite effective?

I once lucidly asked a dream character (not the actual personification of my subconcious though) what the answer to a simple math question was. I got an incorrect answer which led me to believe this person didn't think the problem was worth it, or was incredibly dumb. If I had taken advantage of my lucidity, I would have gotten to know this person better and then ask questions. Thanks for sharing, dearly!
Do you seriously think that blood is the only thing in this world that is colored red?

I will be sure to try to remember this once I get lucid dreaming.

      Sounds like a good idea.

If you want to talk to your subconscious, just talk to the dream.

Some people aren't comfortable with the idea that one DC could represent the entirety of their subconscious. I know I'm not and it has never worked for me. Genjyo, I've actually asked math questions to my DCs too and also got wrong answers!

Ask the dream directly and you'll get far more interesting answers.

i don't know if it's possible to have a man-to-man talk with your subconscious, but if possible this is definetly one thing i want to do once i start lucid dreaming. i'd ask all the big questions about my life...try to understand myself as much as possible.

i think it'd be sort of like talking with god.

I've done it before. Should be written somewhere in my dreamjournal on DV.

I've been meaning to try this for a long time. Unfortunately in the few lucid dreams I've had since I thought of it, I have never remembered to do it.

Wicked: what was it like? What questions did you ask?

I had a lucid dream today. This time I called to speak with my subconsciousness. Strangely enough, it appeared in the form of a small, very old black man. Weird *. Anyway, I asked him to enhance my confidence, but he said that \"it doesn't work that way\". I then asked him to enhance my motivation - the answer was the same. Next I asked him something (a question, not a request) I no longer quite remember... hope it wasn't important *Anyway, after we spoke he pointed at Bulma from DragonBall Z who was suddenly also there some distance away (WTF?) *and said that she's the... dang, I remembered the term he used only this morning! Anyway, he implied that she is responsible for linking all the subconscious thoughts of all people in a single sort of telepathic matrix. I then asked him (rather rhetorically) if I actually subconsciously believe in all that telepathic extra-sensory OOB etc. bullshit, to which he just smiled. That's it. A rather interesting dream, that was! *
      Here.

People talk to Oracle Like Dream Characters all the time, but why on earth would one want to confine oneself to silly and irrelevent questions?

If a DC is giving you the wrong answer to a simple math question, then it's probably not who you'd want to talk to if you're trying to communicate directly with your sub-conscious. This is why I suggest making a point to summon a character that represents your sub-conscious.

By getting more \"interesting answers\" do you mean comical, sarcastic or actually accurate? We're looking for the character that can give accurate answers. The purpose of this first exercise is to ask another source of your dream questions that you may know the answer to already, and get an accurate response. The difference is you're not using manual effort to come up with the answer, it's instead being automatically computed by the sub-conscious.

These silly and irrelevant questions are used to determine if you're speaking to the correct character (or, the "know it all"--sub-conscious represented by the greater being). If you're getting comedic or sarcastic responses, then you're likely talking to the wrong character.

So, once the questions are out of the way and you know you're talking the correct character, then you move on to the actual purpose for all this: To give direct orders to your sub-conscious. It's very important that you have the character repeat your orders. This will ensure that it's "burned" into memory.

      Hope this helps,

      D

my dreams are full of info that is wrong, like last night i heard an answering machine message mentioning my old friend moved to virginia for military training. it sounded true enough, but then i woke up and remembered he went to south carolina not virginia. its been my experience that my subconscious isnt all that bright, its just really artistic imo

Well, I didn't mean to connect those two ideas, so that was careless writing on my part. I would never ask the microcosm of my subconscious a simple math question. The time that I did it to a DC was just an experiment.

I meant to say that I think the subconscious is multifaceted and therefore can not be represented by one face.

Unfortunately this has also been the case for me. I have a lot, lot of stories like the one above. I dream of something happening that might make sense and then learn later that it's totally false.

However, we are probably oversimplifying. As dearly suggests, it may be that we are not using the correct faculties.

There is also the possiblity that our "Subconscious" should want to speak to us, that is directly without the veils of Symbolism interceding. In this regards I have noticed that Oracles, Angels, and even Goddesses come into my dreams largely unbidden, and they give their reflections and advice unsolicited. Just the other night I had a dream in which after a Crime had been committed literally on my 'Watch', as I was some low level Officer in charge of this Transit Station somewhere, a Team of Dream Evaluators showed up and began to conduct an Investigation -- that is, even within the Dream, my 'Subconscious Mind' was critiquing my Dream Behavior and the choices I had made and the actions I had taken.

So, no, not in long experience had I ever been able to summon an Agent of the Dream Mind or Higher Self, or, at least, not within the space of only one dream. Perhaps one can summon these Angels and Guides in one dream, but must wait for subsequent Dreams to get one's Answer. For instance, in one Dream I had been able to remember the "Hail Mary" Prayer and was able to repeat it. I was swirled up into Heaven by this great Vortex of Light, but lost consciousness and remember only coming out the otherside and dropping back down to Earth. But then, a few weeks later, I dreamt of an Interview in Heaven with the Blessed Virgin Herself.

So perhaps these Spiritual Things are rather a lot still the same as many things in the World, that our requests go into some Great Spiritual IN BOX and then must collect dust for awhile until the appropriate clerical attentions can be paid to our Requests. Indeed, there must be a reason why all of the Religious Orders had always numbered Patience as one of the most important Spiritual Virtues.

Score! You are beginning to understand.... oh, and you capitalize 'God' or somehow it seems like you are missing the point.

The word "god" (any god, highly powerful being, etc.) and "God" (as a name for a higher being) are different, are they not?
One says "a god" or "the gods" but "God" when talking about that one being that many religions refer to and it really doesn't matter whether one believes in God or not because it's part of the English language if I'm not mistaken. (Somehow I'm not very sure about this from the grammatical stand point so feel free to correct me, heh.)

Oh and the subconscious is you. Why would it speak with you in any form or way instead of just shifting concepts into your mind? Don't see a reason for it and my more or less dependant deduction would be that "Oracles, Angels, and even Goddesses come into my dreams largely unbidden, and they give their reflections and advice unsolicited" may be just another dream event, which form, it seems, either from concerns directly or from "evolved" concepts.

While I have not requested that my subconscience appear to me as a person I have communicated with it. It is usually in the form of Question and Answer. The questions are easy to come up with. But the answers are sometimes hard to accept or figure out.

My higher mind has been talking to me lately. Not too long ago, I got a little carried away spawning a person from a sidewalk, and it outright just told me "No"! It does that quite often when I want to levitate. I've learned to stop what I'm doing and ask it what it wants me to do.

Also, just last night, I was flying a plane, and after losing track of my wingman, I saw static for about five seconds. I was back on the ground, and I asked if I was dead. I was not lucid, and it said no, as I did the poke the finger through the palm RC check which failed.

Missing the point????????? I don't understand

      What point did I miss?????

The point of the importance of talking to your sub-conscious or the importance of the answers you get. I'm confused Please explain, don't leave me "hanging"

      Thanks for the help.
