      Hello and welcome.

For info on drugs and LD go to this link The Pharmacy
also for some good all around info you should read though the tutorial section.

Jeez when I joined 19 long days ago I never thought I would be giving links to the tutorial in a post. How times have changed.

there's also salvia, supposedly it can trigger lucidity. i wouldnt be surprised. someone ought to make a tutorial about it. i'd do it but i'm not sure i have enough experience, i've only tried it three times.

http://iamshaman.com sells plenty of legal entheogens, including calea zacatechichi and salvia. i recommend it.

I've found some drugs to be wildly effective in attaining lucidity and some to be serious hinderances. It varies significantly from person to person, because we all react to drugs in different ways. Using drugs for that purpose is taking a gamble, because sometimes the results will be astounding and sometimes there won't be results at all. I've also found that marijuana, while often hindering dreaming, can also be useful in attaining a state of "sleep paralysis," Old Hag syndrome.

If you plan on using any of the major hallucinogens -- LSD, psilocybin, mescaline -- be sure you're in a very sound state of mind, and have had experience with them while not sleeping. The risk of having a bad trip increases significantly when you're dreaming. Nightmares on LSD are just no fun.

Someone else mentioned salvia, and I've personally found it to be highly effective in attaining lucidity and exciting dreams. It has a long history of shamanic use for that very purpose, but it's important to keep in mind that salvia is an extremely powerful drug, and the more potent extracts, 15-20x, frequently cause hellishly intense trips and occasional blackouts.

Opiods can also be useful, and I know many people who don't normally lucid dream to have lucid dreams when on them. Opiods are also, however, some of the most addictive drugs on the planet, so it's important to be careful if you use them. The media often overblows their addictive properties, but it's still a very real possibility.

To add to the "major hallucinogens" post above, there is, for most people little chance of falling asleep while still on the drug, so they are not the best for LD induction.

Calea zacatechichi is reputed to cause an increase in dreams.
However, it didn't seem to have any noticible effect in me (except prompting a gag reflex . )

One thing that does seem to increase dreaming in me is Mugwort tea.

      melatonin

For me melatonin increases the intensity of my dreams. In fact, it is too much for me. Even just taking the smallest dose available commercially. I dream vividly every night without any drugs in me. I just recently started smoking pot again after about 15 yrs of abstinence. I started doing this so I won't have nightmares. Now I only have nightmares 1-2xweek instead of 1-2 times per night! Some mornings when I wake up I feel like I expended more energy during sleep than I did when I was awake.

      gosh, i know that feeling!

Opiates are good for dreaming. One time I had took vycodin and had a very nice dream that night. One of my friends accidentally took a triple dose of hydrocodone while sick and from her description of the experience it sounds like she accidentally entered sleep paralysis and thought her house was being shelled.

DXM gives me some pretty interesting dreams, but the recall isn't great. Also, lower doses are better because higher ones are rough on the memory.
