      Photo Reading

Some where a long time ago there was a discussion about Photo reading. I found intersting and always wanted to learn it. I can't find the old post so I just started another.

What brought this to mind was a recent post in Senseless banter from Clairity

I think this may run along the same lines.

This is an interesting topic, and i hope it gets more replies!

I'm a naturally fast reader, when i can actually get the time to sit down and read! And i do take it all in, and remember it. My boyfriend thinks it's fascinating, he's like 'how do you do that?'
I think i put it down to learning to read late, and then when i did learn to read, i think i just picked up everything i could get my hands on!

Hmmm I do have dyslectia, but I could read those mix up words.

And I really must be trying that reading-superfast stuff. It sounds really cool. And unlike with that uberman-sleep-cycle it can't hurt you.

I heard about this courses and things, mostly from secretarys(guess its their line of work ). I have always been an avid reader, so I read and understand it fine and fast, may be because I read allot since I'm a kid, I've got my own reading tachnics or what not to sumerize things when doing studies, so I can't really say much on this photo reading, If its faster than I read then I'd say I'd give it a try, but I'd have to compare it with someone who photo reads to actually see how it is. Interesting though, If I could read a book a day then I'd say woweeeeee

Seems interesting enough. I am already a very fast reader as well ( lol only the fast readers are responding to this post) Usually I can finish a page when most people are only in the middle of a second paragraph. My mom taught me how to read when I was young, and she reads just as fast as I do. I remember a few months ago I gave her and article to read and she read it so fast that I was surprised. I had totally forgot she was a fast reader. I asked her "your done already?' and she replied "ha-ha, Jonathan, who do you think taught YOU to read fast "

I don't think it would be a method you would want to pick up for a novel. More so like articles or text that you need to be tested on or just to have general knowledge.

Haaaaaa! I just thought of the dudes name UMJ! I will do a search.

interesting. i could read it about two thirds as fast as i normally do.

i am a fairly quick reader as well

actually, with the amount i read, i really should look into one of those speed-reading books/courses. i saw an infomercial on tv once where some dude was a speedreading machine.
i could actually finish one of the 15 odd books that are presently sitting partially read by my bed

oh, and UMJ' s thread was funny. - "In anycase, you are completely right about the great results parts. I hope I have expired you.."

hehe, yup, mr. 180 IQ, you've certainly expired me..

I might have been the one who made a post about Photo Reading some time ago. I was practicing the method for some while. It's a very subtle thing, and honestly probably don't work for a lot of people, a lot of it is a faith concept. But it's backed with somewhat convincing references to neurological association and subconscious whatnot. But it's basically a kind of mixing in between subconscious and conscious processing of written or typed text. It's related to dreaming in the sense that it feeds info into the mind through different channels that may indeed influence dreams in a profound way.
