Do I see a publisher in the making? I'd buy it.
Since my first lucid dream I have pondered why it has been such a taboo topic. LD that is. I have had several post about it and even wrote to some news papers when they brought up dreaming - no reply.

Is it controversial? All the people I've told about how I can "controll my dreams" have been pretty interested in it and they believe me. I wonder what the general concensus is about this. Like, if skeptical people view LD as something they wouldn't believe in like ghosts or alien life.

People used to link LD-ing to shamism and witchcraft. But not as often nowadays.

And there are plenty of essays and books about Lucid Dreaming!

I think in a nut shell that peaple who do not understand somthing they tend to shy away from it. Most peaple cannot understand a lucid dream unless they have had one. You can try an explain it until your blue in the face but you cannot project the feeling you have when you become lucid.
Andoyne - I wish my friends were as open minded as yours.
Squall Please enlighten me on where to find all these books on lucid dreaming - I think it could benifit the whole Forum. With the eception on Stephen Laberge and his many books ( most of us are likely aware of his works)

Yeah Im in agreement when it comes to those dream interpretated books they are way off key. And you guys are right there are no Lucid dream books out there of any real beneficial use. I mean I was at Barnes and Nobles one time during lunch and I came across a book called the Lucid Dream Master and it pissed me off becuase this book had nothing to do with dreams period. Im in the process of writing the publisher and setting him straight, because it was a waste of time to even pick the book up and not only that the story didn't make sense it was cheesey and stupid.

I think that ShadowNightWing really hit that on the nose. I have had no luck with a good LD book yet. Maybe I will some day. If anyone finds one please let me know.

Yeah let me know too. You know what it would be cool if we all, I mean everyone in the forum created a Lucid Dream book. How freaking awesome would that be if everyones ideas and actual Lucid Dreams were all unraveled in one book. And the best part about it is that we are all Real Lucid Dreamers. That would be a hit. It would be completely uncomparable to all of these other senseless books in regards to LD's And the title could be something Like Dreamers who are aware they are Dreaming. Only because there are Lucid Dreamers out there who doesn't even know that there is an actual name for it. I think it would go over extremely great what do you all think?

lol just copy-paste any threads that talk about dreams and how to attain lucidity etc. then at the end of the book copy-paste various peoples lucid dreams they have had, and a possible interpretation they made on it themselves if they have one...

I belive we could do it! Ice needs to create a new topic on that. We can all take our ideas, combine them, and let ice have the profits(he deserves it for creating such a great forum!)

I couldn't agree more!! Some dream books can be helpful in terms of universal symbols and such but overall, you are your best interpretator.

I've been to every bookstore i can find and i haven't come across any books about lucid dreaming either. I can't find LaBerge's book, or anything else related to Lucid Dreaming. So i think writing a book would be a great idea. I'd help, but i dont exactly know how... whatever... book! book! book!

ShadowNightWing - That Lucid dream for dummies Idea really got your wheels spinning ah?
You would most likely have to get concent from the peaple who you would take posts from. I'm not sure about all that legality stuff. But I would certainly be interested.
Exploring the world of Lucid dreaming would have some competition.

I think if you have a repeating dream, that keeps comming back and you have no idea what it means, then one of them books might be some what useful. I can only remeber one or two dreams like that in my life though and they were nightmares when I was really young.

I don't think its any good for random dreams.

I dont like all those dream interpretation books... too much bs in them...

As for LD manuals - "exploring the world of lucid dreaming " is the only one I've seen. They seem to have few interesting ideas there, but I dont like the scientific approach to LD's...
