      recall after a nap

I tend to recall loads of dreams from the earlier (up to 6hr's sleep)period. After that, I find it hard to recall? I often have a sense of having dreamt alot, but very hard to recall. This doesn't make sense if rem increases with more sleep. Any idea's? Bug's me when I can't recall

Perhaps you do not concentrate for your later dreams. IF you stress out about what you have to do the second you wake up, you can wipe out your dreams. Try relaxing after you wake up.

Are you talking about naps, or sleeping in for more than six hours?
I know that when I take naps during the day it's a hit or miss situation. The dreams are either really vivid, or I don't remember a damn thing.
When I sleep during the night, I usually remember a lot of my dreams all throughout the night; it doesn't really matter when I wake up.

You said you usually remember your dreams before/until six or more hours of sleep?
I guess if you want to remember your dreams, take Barbizzle's advice and relax. Try to stay as still as possible, otherwise you might forget your dreams. I don't really know the logic behind it; probably something to do with neurons or protons or some bs scientific explanation. But if people say it works, I guess you can't go wrong with that.

"know that when I take naps during the day it's a hit or miss situation. The dreams are either really vivid, or I don't remember a damn thing. "

I think it's more like that. Often after 6 hours of so I'll wake with huge recall, I may bravely write em down then, or manage to later on. However in the next phase of sleep I Occasionally have vivid recolection, or Lucid dreams, Yet go through periods with almost no recolection during this period. Same if I get up for an hour or so b4 going back to sleep. This I find can be the most succesful way to induce lucid dreams, especially WILD's. I just find it a bit funny that I often can't remember anything, when it comes so naturally earlier in the night.
