      new/diff dream for me - thoughts?

      This happened last night. I've recently started recording my dreams. I took a nap mid-day, so I was somewhat well rested. I slept at 10:30 ... had a somewhat long dream ... and then I had this weird one right before waking up at 1:30. It starts out with me thinking I just woke up from a dream.

      I could hear my parents talking in the other room. (when I actually wake up...they are talking). Everything feels normal yet I keep my eyes closed until the end when I wake up. There was this green circle light thing infront of me I was trying to keep steady. My head was shaking with instability (not physical shaking). I got up (in my dream im naked) ... and the concentration was somewhat scary. It's like I was scared to concentrate too much ... so I kept it neutral. I walk to the door about to go out, but instead I close it because I remember im naked. I start to lose concentration with thoughts of my brother being annoying (in my dream I hear him say something ... he bugs me). At the same time I start to open my eyes. When they are about half-open I wake up.

      Any thoughts? First time having a dream like this. Anything on being scared ... just becuase.

      I think you had a false awakening; It's actually quite common. The shaking is also common, it has something to do with sleep paralysis. The weird flashing lights are from your eyes moving due to REM (actually i'm bullshiting you, I don't know what causes the flashing.) But I do know it's called hypnotic imagery. I'm not sure about the details, but i'm sure someone here can fill you in.

      id agree with lucky27, sounds like a false awakening, then can get a little annyoying when your trying to LD but i wouldnt worry to much about it, its normal and there is nothing to worry about.
