Reasons for all the strange behavior?

Right, so I've been thinking about the strange behavior of dream people (don't know the official term yet >.<) and other strange little things, and I've been trying to explain it.

Obviously, I'm refusing to accept the idea that it's just because they're dream people and everything is weird in dreams.

Here's what I've come up with. I think it's actually all defense mechanisms set up by our own minds to try to keep the "reality" of the dream intact...obviously if you start telling people they're dreams and they actually BELIEVE you, the reality is compromised. The same thing goes for things like seeing yourself in the mirror (I'm not entirely sure why).

      Who knows?

When you're not lucid, I guess most of what happens depends on how your mind perceives it should happen.
When you're lucid, then, It would probably depend on how much control you have over everything (scenery, dream characters, other objects.)

I had a strange experience last night in a lucid dream in which I met someone else who was also lucid. There was a third, non-lucid person hanging around with us, but everyone else around us was acting strange (it was obvious to the two of us who were lucid, but the third guy didn't seem to notice anything odd).

It really made me think. I always figured that if I met another lucid person in a dream, that person would be a manifestation of my subconcious, but this person didn't seem like that at all. The person had his own behaviour and personality, and yet he was as lucid as I was. I really don't know what to think anymore about dream characters.

I had a dream not long ago where I was sort of lucid, and I convinced my mum that she was dreaming (I must of thought we were having a shared dream or something) but I couldnt convinve my dad.
Also sometimes dream characters seem to help me along to Lucidity. The other night one turned round and shouted at me that im dreaming. I didnt go lucid but only because the reality check acted as if it were reality
I can't say I really know anything about what you're talkinga bout , but I said plausible because of that incredibly cool blind spot trick .
