Yes DW I have done this on a number of occasions. I think it was this process which started me off into Lucid Dreams. It was quite often on the semi-wake up bit and fall back into the same dream which seemed to trigger a more 'involved' part in the dream to the point where I was concious as to what I was doing and what was going on.
On occasions, I would even get out of bed to go to the bathroom, and provided I was sufficiently tired enough to not wake up fully, could carry on from where I left off (and feel a lot more comfortable too! )
I am sure this is a positive sign and hopefully shortly you will fall into a lucid dream and be thrilled to bits you've managed it! I'm sure you'll be in the bestest mood ever the following day when you've done it. It's all a question of relaxation, awareness and imagination.
Try and keep a mental note each morning of the dreams you have been having if you're not one for keeping a diary of them, and when you're coming round to being fully awake in the morning, just mull over what went on in your dream.
I found that at certain times of the moon phase I would have more or less LDs. Maybe worth keeping a note of that. Not that this is any guarantee, but eating cheese late-ish in the evening also promoted more notable (wierder?) dreams, but doesn't do the waistline much good Some seemed to have more effect than others. I found some of the milder cheeses like Brie or Cheddar did seem to give me vivid dreams whereas others like Stilton would make me uncomfortably hot and give me heartburn in the night and therefore nowhere near relaxed enough to LD.
Good luck
