      BRILLIANT DREAMS - New pill?

I did a search for it and found nothing... which was quite suprising for a Lucid Dreaming site.

      www.brilliantdreams.com

      50mg - Vitamin B5 (not B6)
4mg - Lycoris Radiata extract (Red Spider Lily)
      100mg - Choline
      0.5mg - Melatonin

Let me know what you guys think. I was considering buying a bottle or two.

*shrugs* i'm pretty wary of online stuff like that, though it could be helpful.

have you tried B6 (or B5 for that matter), or melatonin by themselves before? if so, why not try them out first? if they do the job, there's no need to try out something like that. i'm trying melatonin for the first time tonight actually...

We don't really like to encourage the use of drugs (good or bad) for the sake of lucid dreaming and we try to keep talk of them down to a minimum. It’s a complicated issue.

In my opinion, as far as online drugs go, I wouldn’t buy them. If possible, try to find something similar in your local nutrition shop or talk to a professional chemist about the ingredients.

And I just realized that I sound like a mother… ah well. Just be careful.

Ugh, don't use drugs to help yourself LD. It may seem like good idea, but ti's far better i the long run to learn to lucid dream naturally, so you don't become dependent on the drugs to become lucid.

      Brilliant Dreams

Note: Icedawg gave the go-ahead for my on-topic posting here. Thanks!

Greetings, this is Rick with Brilliant Dreams. I saw this thread in our website referrer logs and wanted to reply regarding the question of ingredients.

First, regarding the question of B6 and melatonin. Yes, if you search the forums here or google these factors, you will find that many people believe they help with lucid dreaming. They can be found online or are usually available at your local nutrition store or pharmacy. I have heard that melatonin can be difficult to acquire in Canada.

      Regarding Brilliant Dreams:
Brilliant Dreams should not be considered a miracle 'lucid dreaming pill'. In fact lucid dreamers are a relatively rare group, most people are not even aware of how incredible very vivid/ memorable dreams can be, much less lucidity. Brilliant Dreams is targeted at that wider audience of individuals that we feel are missing out on wonderful dream experiences because they rarely have very vivid dreams or do not often remember their dreams. Our goal is to help change that.

Here are my notes on the ingredients of Brilliant Dreams Dream Enhancement:

Lycoris Radiata nutrient extract - galantamine (4mg): This is an FDA approved natural herbal extract from the bulb of the red spider lily plant. It acts as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (see our science page for details) and the known medicinal properties date to the time of the Greek poet Homer, roughly 3000 years ago. It is approved to treat Alzheimer's Disease since it has been clinically shown to improve memory and recall, in this case, dream recall. It is also clinically shown to have an amazing side effect... very vivid dreams in many of those taking it, versus those taking a placebo.

Choline and Vitamin B5 (100mg, 50mg): These nutrients are the precursor and cofactor to the body's production of acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is a beneficial neurotransmitter; acetylcholinesterase is the breakdown mechanism for acetylcholine. This combination of encouraging acetylcholine production (choline + B5) while inhibiting acetylcholinesterase (galantamine) is what improves dream recall and promotes more vivid dreams.

Melatonin (0.5mg): Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone in the body that promotes restful sleep and REM sleep. In this way, it has been shown to lead to greater dream frequency and longer dream duration. This may include increased REM sleep just prior to waking, a time when it is easier to remember dreams.

Our science page includes the cited references to medical journals and publications.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me here or at [email protected].

Best regards and may all your dreams be Brilliant,
      Rick

Wow! Sounds great. But the price isn't exactly right.

Anyway, I did some Web Searching and found that Red Spider Lily is a flower that is available at many a nursery. All of the other ingredients are inexpensive generics. One would wonder how easy and economical it would be grow a backyard full of Red Spider Lilies and have wonderfully intense dreams without paying what seems like a three-zero markup.

But, heck, a lot of people would spend the same money on beer and cigerettes.

I don't – and wouldn’t - buy this. Hasn't anyone here heard of Penis Enlargement pills? And they ARE bogus. If you're gonna take any supplements to dream better, in my personal opinion, make sure they're natural herbs or some similar shit. No point RELYING on something to master dreams. I don’t care even if those are natural ingredients, if they are learn about the herbs’ benefits and buy them separately and investigate the information – good for your experience, mind and pocket.

Take the money you would spend on this, and go have some fun. That'll help you dream better.

      Brilliant Dreams

Thank you for your replies. My comments below:

Leo Volont: Galanthamine is an herbal extract As an extract, it takes a large quantity of red spider lily bulbs to extract a very small quantity of galanthamine. The ratio is on the order of 1 to 10,000. So for each gram of extract, 10 kilograms of red spider lilies is required. Thus the equivalent of one bottle of Brilliant Dreams (60 4mg capsules) requires approximately 2.4kg of red spider lily. Based on your research of red spider lily bulb prices, I think you may find growing and refining your own to be an uneconomical alternative. Note that Brilliant Dreams is manufactured under international GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations in an IS09001 certified facility that also manufactures products for the pharmaceuticals industry.

Astromancer: Yes, this is a natural herbal extract from the red spider lily plant. It is FDA approved and clinical research has proven both its memory enhancing properties as well as the bonus effects of enhancing dream vividness. References to the appropriate published medical journals and research can be found on our website.

Again, this is not advocated as a miracle lucid dreaming pill. However, it has been shown to enhance dream vividness and promote recall, and, generally, it is easier to achieve lucidity in more vivid dreams.

Although illegal and protested against, I find psychedelics and hallucinogens help largely with my lucid and vivid dreaming.

The two most potentially harmful drugs are illegal (ie. alcohol, tobacco) yet one can't take shrooms and giggle quietly for a few hours. Sheesh. No logic.

Sounds good though, might be worth a try.

Red spider lily eh? That sounds well tasty. Can't we get it from anyone else? Let's see your competitors. And some teas with it and chamomile in - if possible. Oh-oh, and a picture of the fabled red tiger lily attached would be nice as a personal present between us two close buddies. Peace, Mr. Seller Man

Thank you and you're welcome. It is indeed a fine line to walk. Big companies cannot track and respond to every forum/blog/website post about their products, but, as a small company, we still can... And hope to continue to do so in a manner that answers posted questions and provides appropriate on topic information.

      Thanks again,
