Voices and strange noises in WILD?

I myself have never tried WILD yet but Ive heard many stories on this site of people WILDing and hearing voices and scary sounds what causes this and how can it be prevented
Our dreams are firsthand creations, rather than residues of waking life. We have the capacity for infinite creativity.

This is caused as your mind disconnects from its external inputs. I don't know of any way to will yourself into stopping these totally, however, you can effect how long it lasts.

Blizzz made a great post a month ago about short transition into WILD. I've experimented with it some and have been able to WILD with a minimum of sensations. The more you fight the transition, the longer it will last. The key is to relax enough so that you drop into sleep quickly.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I agree with the comment that the mind is disconnecting from external inputs..

I've never known WILD by a name before reading these boards.. I often read through these messages and catch myself saying, "So that's what they call it when..."

it's always been pretty natural for me to hear voices as I disconnect and I can't remember a time when they caused me any distress.. I think they're pretty neat and I'm often amused by the voices as I hear them clearly, yet I don't have any conscious input into what the voices say.

The more I experience the wake/sleep borderline, the more I am convinced that my reaction to such things as voices/images (especially when transitioning from wakefulness into sleep pararysis) flavors the experience. It used to scare the willies out of me to be conscious during sleep paralysis and the experience would only become more frightening as it continued. It's almost as to say, "This is happening.. time to freak out!".. Now I take it as an opportunity to relax as a disembodied mind and listen to the sounds and watch the images with enjoyment. Tension/apprehension only serves to cause the sounds/images to become disharmonious.

None of this is "happening to" you, you are doing this.

Learn to take an approach of "I've been here before, I'm not in any danger, I'm going to relax and enjoy instead of becoming uptight".
