      Real locations?

in my first LD (apart from the ones i had as a kid) the place i was dreaming about was kind of a merge of 2 places that are miles apart and only lasted about 15 - 20 seconds, probably because i tried swimming, levitating and swinging on a rope all at once and it woke me up. it might seem boring to dream about real places but if you wanted to could you? could you take a walk around the city you live in without it changing from reality? It just seems strange that one minute i was walking down a road then the next i was jumping into a river i used to play in when i was younger but i dont remember changing the scenery.

You can stay fixed in one location as long as you're mind does not 'wander'. The Astral Project Out of Body people are quite used to being able to go to fixed locations. One would suppose that one can go to actual places in the World -- sort of -- but the Lowest Astral Plane that correspondes to the Real World has added content, seemingly of a subjective quality. Once, years ago, when I was in the Far East, I astrally projected one night and flew to the Town Square, the Train Station and there, in the center of the Square was this Bronze Statue of some General or other. Well, it is not there in reality. I asked questions the next day and it seems that before the Japanese Occupation, there had been a statue of a General, one that they Japanese did not appreciate since his famous Victory was against the Japanese. Torn down in Reality, it still exists in the Astral Plane's representation of that Town. I suppose on the Astral Plane, Iraq is still bedecked with statues honoring old Saddam.

i would think it is possible. my mind has re-created my bedroom with astounding accuracy, and various places in my hometown with considerable accuracy.

i would actually love to go back to my childhood school in a lucid dream, with it completely as it was when i attended...even try to explore different years, and see if my mind could age people correctly, etc.

Hey there, & welcome to the forum!!
Well, I sometimes do that if I have one of those 'Dreams that come true'.
If you are talking about looking into a city w/o changing it, or looking into the future, try WILD. The trans state will get you there, and with a little pressure, you'll fly alright. You can now view places like Disneyland, Sun Valley, and maybe even the movies. It is fun to school/work, I might add, & you can get all the information you need, & be able to read the books/view the time necessary. Just make sure you know when your parents/spouse will wake you (known as a curfew in this case!!), so they won't get upset, thinking you are unconscious. Always look at clocks to tell the time...and go back to bed at that curfew!! Your eyesight is very keen now, b/c it is only a dream. Remember that this is all only a dream!!!
