Hi All. I've been doing some reading on dreams and stuff recently. I shared ability to have lucid dreams at will. I've been doing that all of my life, and I too thought that everyone else did the same. But some research study results bothered me:
I've read that it can take at least 30 min for a person to reach REM, and thus have a dream. I've been able to begin dreaming in as little as 2 minutes. In real time I'd only be asleep for 5 minutes, but my dream felt more like an hour. . I've been told time and time again...No No No that's not possible to have a dream in such a small time frame, etc. I've even used my alarm clock to verify the elapsed time.
Most people I've talked to say that they dream in Black and White. All of my dreams are in full color, I can smell, taste, and feel as well.
What I can't explain is a dream where I was looking at a treasure chest. Next it starts to flash repeatedly. Then it explodes, and I wake up. However the explosion noise I heard was actually thunder that had occured outside. How did my brain coordinate that explosion in my dream with the Thunder that had happened outside? It would have to have know that lightning struck, thunder follows, and to explode the chest when the thunder begins.
Every time I share this with other, people look at me like I'm crazy (hopefully this will make sense to someone here). So I'd like to know if anyone else has had these experiences?
