-Imagining That The Air Will be Solid Where You Step, And Walk/Run Into The Air?
-Jumping Into The Air, And Make A Gust Of Wind Lift You Up High?

Regarding real life levitation, often people assume that it is as though one becomes lighter than air and floats upward. Such a notion is found in Patanjali's Sutras on Supernatual Yogic Powers... that one who levitates will feel as light as cottonwool. But I was recently reading a biography of Theresa of Avila -- the founder of the Shoeless Carmelites, and she was startled to find, when she first levitated that it seemed like a powerful force got just under her feet and lifted her up.

In non lucid dreams sometimes I would fly like if I where normally walking, like for example, I could be walking around the city but get into a hurry to get somewhere and simply start flying to get there faster and see better.

In lucid dreams I've tried everything, I love the lotus position as Leo mentioned, it gives me a clearer view of everything and allows more concentration to me than feeling my complete body hanging or something; and if a want to go really fast I just think of myself as energy or transform myself and just go faster than I can imagin, but mostly for the fun of it and the feeling, I don't find it usefull to go extremly fast to reach a place or something, for that I just close my eyes and imagine myself teleporting

I find it is true that as the dream develops we kind of loose "fuel", but I think is due to tireness and maybe changing to a deeper sleep stage or waking up, so much more concentration is needed.
      Here and there...

Wow... we got a lot in common.

What you say about 'walking' levitation. Sometimes in a dream, almost to be humorous with the surrounding dream characters, I will float up just a fraction of an inch over the flooring, and float over the ground just a shade faster than a walk, and look to see if anybody notices I'm not moving my legs.

but one of my kinetic joys in dreaming isn't even in flying, but in sort of skiing and skating whenever I find a slope of some kind... which is kind of odd since I've rarely ski-ed and haven't skated in over 50 years. I guess in some ways it is like how Motorcycling is exactly like flying an airplane, but one is just over the ground all the time.

Wow - there have been so many different flying styles! All of them seem like they'd be worth trying. I'm glad to see there were one or two other people who fly like a bird (flapping wings) - I'm not alone after all!

I can't ever seem to fly without flapping like a bird, though. The time I tried the Superman, I was already in the air - and I shot forward very fast, but began to lose speed and altitude very quickly before starting flapping my arms again to stay aloft. I think I just need some practice.

And I think this is the best quote I've heard in a long time!

      love the flying

Mostly I fly superman style. Second most frequent is vertical levitation. Sometimes I have flown in kind of a sitting position, where I had to will myself to move.

I often hover when I am going up or down stairs or if I jump in a dream.

I'll have to try the lotus position next time. thanks for the idea. 8)
