      This is getting annoying..

I posted this before, and I did get some help, but it is still a problem.

Ever since I started trying WILD's, when I try to do one, my eyes, when they are closed, start to roll back into my head. They best way I can explain it is the sensation you get when you look up at, say, a ceiling, without moving your head - except with your eyes closed.

The strange thing is, I never had this happen to me before. I don't even have to be deep into the process, whenever I even THINK of doing a wild, or even think of lucid dreams in general while trying to keep my eyes closed, this will happen. As you can imagine, it is very irritating, because it is unpleasant and I cannot go to sleep. And of course I love to pest myself, so I always will spontaneously say the keywords inside my head (the keywords being anything that even faintly reminds me of lucid dreaming).

Somebody mentioned putting pressure on my eyes using a sleep mask or something of that nature. It does work, but it requires a lot of pressure, and then I start to feel my pulse in my eyes...I just don't like it. Lately I have to wait until I'm tired enough to just doze off quickly.

Am I the only one with this problem? Am I insane?!

I know the fealing you are descibing. It's the fealing when you have your eyes open and you try to look directly up I use to do it when I was a kid all the time to try and make my eyes go pure white. Hasn't been a problem though when I close them, maybe you could try sleeping with two pillows so your neck is tilted up slightly.

Does this bother you so much to the point you cannot get used to it? I know it is easy foe me to say.
      Does it hurt?

I have done this a couple of times before and it can get annoying. Do you sleep on your back? If you do maybe you should try flipping over and sleep on your stomach.

the rabbit hole is pretty deep mang

@ Griffon: Yeah, thats exactly the feeling. I'll try two pillow tonight to see how that works.

@ Howetzer: It doesn't quite hurt...it's more of an extremely uncomfortable sensation. I have had this problem for about 3-5 monthes now, and I haven't gotten used to it yet.

@ Resonate: Mmm...I sleep on all different angles, I shift until I doze off. It does seem to be worse when I'm on my back, however. Not by much though.

I think the strangest part of all this is that it only happens when I think of anything remotely related to dreaming or sleep. Even now, when I close my eyes while typing this it happens.

I honstly don't know if this would help, but maybe if you kept thinking "down" while you were going to sleep. Like, picture a well or a corridor that you are looking down into and try to place your eyes in a position where you would actually be doing that. I don't know if it would help, but it's a suggestion.

I have tried using visualization before to help it. Sometimes it helps a little, other times it reminds me of attempting to perform a WILD, then my eyes start doing it again.

It is one mysterious little phenomenon, isn't it?

If youre talking about what I think you are, I have the same problem. I find though I only get the feeling when im thinking about my eyes being closed. Do you have to constantly "blink" your eyes when theyre closed
I can't say I really know anything about what you're talkinga bout , but I said plausible because of that incredibly cool blind spot trick .

I'm not sure what you mean by "blink"...I do have to open my eyes when it starts becoming unbearable.
