      drunk lucids

      i have only had a bout 4 or 5 lucids now but i only get them when i come home wasted...why is this??? they arent really vivid dreams...like last nite i new i was dreaming looking at this tv and i said i wanted to go surfing but all i could do was go surfing on a video game on the computer...whats up wiht that

      dreams are real while they last, what more can be said about life??

      This is due to the REM rebound effect: once you get drunk/wasted you dont REM much for quite some time. After that you start dreaming in REM nonstop for quite a while. You may experience a dream that is like 5x longer than normal one. And long dreams mean much higher chance of lucidity. Also, during this extended REM period you may be more conscious (or semi lucid)... Lack of vividness or control may be due to you being drunk or ot eating properly

      Personally I dont see much dreams after getting drunk , but then I see one monstrous megadream that seems to last for a very long time with a very high level of awareness and vividness...

      This guy is exactly right. In fact, if you look at my dream journal you'll see that I get my best dreams after a night of drinking as well . However, this REM rebound effect only works if you sleep long enough for the alcohol to wear off, which might take a while...

      i never have dreams when i drink. what gives. maybe i am too wasted.
