      Who else works nights?

I work from 8pm - 8am. I have to attempt to "flip" my schedule on my days off if I ever want to get anything accomplished. Needless to say, this wreaks havoc on my sleep schedule. This seems to make my recall a bit harder than it used to be (earlier in my life)

      Work days, I sleep from 9, 10, or 11am - 4, 5 or 6pm.
Off days I sleep anywhere between midnight and 9am.

Anyone else have to do this? Just curious how your dreams are affected if you deal with a similar schedule.

For almost two years, I worked nights for a major photo-developing company, so I'm pretty confident that I know exactly what you mean about messed up sleep schedules. My dreams weren't effected by the time switch at all. However, I did notice that I had a more difficult time trying to wake up from dreams in the evening than I did from dreams in the morning. By that I mean I would hear my alarm clock go off, but be unable to ‘get back to my body’ (so to speak).

If you don’t mind me asking, what are the conditions you sleep in during the day? Do you cover up the windows so no light gets in, or do you just crash out in broad daylight? Are there ‘day’ things going on outside (i.e. construction, noisy neighbors, kids playing, etc.) or is it quiet?

All those factors should be taken into consideration, too. We all have 'internal clocks' and I think it's just a matter of re-training yours (or fooling it entirely).

Good luck with your dreams in the future.

I have some "Thermal Shades" - Custom fit shades that are the *celuloid (?) type. Black on the inside of the house and white facing the outside. Over those are 2 layers of thick dark curtains. I also sleep with earplugs and one of those eye covers. So my room stays pretty dark. Honestly, I rarely see the sunlight. That is probably not helping things either.
