Bringing something back from your dreams

So far I've had two dreams where I brought something back with me. It may sound a little far-fetched and 'just like the movies', but it's nothing permanent and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this as well.

My first account was when I was nine years old. Our cat had died a few months earlier; she enjoyed spending the night on a shipyard across our house, unaware that there was a new guard dog — the previous one was nearly deaf and blind and wasn't aware of her presence, needless to say the dog bit her and she died on the spot. Somewhere in my dream I realised I was laying in bed and just before I awake, I had the feeling that our cat was near. The moment I awoke, I felt something claw my hand; very lightly, but noticable. And there were a few tiny scratches. This experience probably falls between dreams and general paranormal phenomena.

The second time something like this happened (I was fourteen or fifteen at the time), was when I was walking through the house (in my dream) and went up the stairs, when I saw a couple of huge insects, which looked like a cross between a mosquito and a wasp, except for the fact that they were nearly two feet tall. Needless to say, I ran for it and they came after me, but just when one of them touched my neck, I woke up and could still feel it, so I reached for it and threw it down on my pillow... the moment I saw hit the pillow, it vanished.

It may sound a bit 'Nightmare on Elmstreet'-ish, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had experiences like this, so please, share yours.
      Night's my time of day.

Sounds like "beyond dreaming" to me.

A couple nights ago I dreamt about taking some DXM pills and washing them down with dog urine (no joke). A little while later I realized it was a bad idea, because I have never liked the effects of DXM, so I induced vomiting, which woke me up. I could've sworn the pill was on my pillow, so I grabbed it (and felt something hard and small and pill-shaped) and tossed it onto the floor. Also I had drooled all over my pillow.

So far, I have not had an experience that would lead me to believe it is possible to bring anything back from a dream except maybe a state-of-mind (emotional or otherwise).

haha, you had to INDUCE vomiting to rid the DXM, when you washed it down with dog urine....

some claim on can bring back/create 'astral objects' which can last anywhere from seconds to years...although its simply conjecture to me...who knows though..

I think when you wake up from a dream like that, and either see or feel something in your room, your brain is still projecting those dream images in your mind. So you are actually seeing or feeling these things in real life, but they're only left over experiences from the dream.

Now, the scratches you described from the cat in the dream, Hypnagorama, I have no clue how to explain that. Either it was an actual paranormal experience, or you scratched yourself and thought it was the cat's claws. Interesting story, though.

I know what you mean I've had something similar

Went blind somehow in my dream and woke up and I was still blind. I was scared as hell because I couldn't see nothing. I had cryed and was pissed that I will never be abel to see again. About 30 secs or a minute later I was able to see again.

oh yeah, Ive had this loads of times. It happens a couple of times a week for me so ill just give a couple. Once I was in a dream and I needed to spit, so I go to the basin and spit and just as Im spitting I wake up and gob all over my pillow. Another time I must have been dreaming about PE or something because I saw my PE teacher standing up,telling me to do a forward roll. So I got out of my bed and got into the position to do one before it occured to me that he wasnt actually there. Also several times when I have been on checkouts too long I will wake up thinking im still on checkouts, its like being at work when sleeping
I can't say I really know anything about what you're talkinga bout , but I said plausible because of that incredibly cool blind spot trick .

yea this can be what ive heard before to be called an awakening dream..its where you are awake but still visualizing things from a dream you had just been having..ive had it before where a dog or animal will be licking my face, and ill wake up still feeing slobber on my face and ill whipe it off only to find my hand dry..ive also had weird moments where i put my hands up to fend off a knife attack and it came across the back of my palm, and i woke up wtih a thin red line, just the skin was red,no cut, across my hand...could of been from my bed sheets or pillows but i dunno, fun to think otherwise!

In another thread I explained I had two OBE's in my life. Well the one I said I didn't want to talk about, when I woke up from it I had three slash marks on my left arm about 5-6 inches long (no joke).

I dreamt about lying awake in bed, then something came out of the wall and punched me. I slid across the bed and hit a chair that was next the bed causing it to slide away. The next morning I woke up with a bruise where I was punched and the chair had been moved.

Also a few times I've woken up and felt as if I've got something in my hand, I usually jusp put it on the bed side table only to watch it vanish. A few times I held on to it and looked at it untill it vanished. It was often the TV remote .
