      I'm just not sure.

Well, I'm back in dreaming mode again, which is excellent, and last night, well, I think I had my first lucid dream. But it was probably the least lucid lucid dream ever. So I was having the usual slide show run of things, just one random thing after another, when I found myself in my grandad's front garden, and I began to fly. It seems at some point in my flying, I REALIZED I was flying, and I took control a bit. A lthough I didn't TELL myself I was flying, I just seemed to notice. And then it stopped. So basically, I wasn't really THAT aware of anything, but I'm certain I was to some extent. It's vrey hard to describe such a complicated thing, so I'm sorry if this is at all incoherent. Then I dreamed that I told a guy at work all about what I told you. Which was ever weirder.

      What do you guys think?

First of all, even a minor moment of lucidity shows you're in the right way, congrats.

I just posted a thread yesterday in which I said I had a LD and then told someone about it in the next dream, so I guess this is normal. It concered me too at the start but was cool.

unless you knew you were dreaming, it wasn't a lucid dream. i've had plenty of non-lucid dreams where i take control of my flying, without ever realizing i'm not actually awake....but it's fun, nonetheless.

when you have a lucid dream, there will be absolutely no question in your mind that you were lucid.

Lucid dreaming i can honestly say that experiences are a tremendous help in the understanding of the concept. (to yourself) But it is still very difficult to explain what and how it feels like to someone who does not know.

There are so many levels of lucidity and variables of each, it is almost impossible to relay some of your own experiences let alone understand someone else's experience.

I am pretty confident, regardless of the level of lucidity, that what mongreloctopus said, " there will be absolutely no question in your mind that you were lucid." that that will be the case.
