      Factors Affecting Dreaming?

Are there any other factors affecting whether or not you have dreams, you know, besides Lucid Dreaming Techniques and such?

And if so, would you be so kind as to list some for me? Thanks much!

One always has dreams. It's merely a matter of remembering them.
However, even thought I believe that the best way to recall dreams is to wake up during or soon after a REM period, I've also noticed that at times, willing myself to remember dreams pays off with the direct opposite: not remembering the dream even upon what seems to be waking up right from it. A curious event when the dream seemed to just be there and the next moment is utterly erased from my mind. Hmm, who knows. Not enough to go on really to say what specifically effects dream recall or not.
      Perhaps a research project?

Well, I know having a fever or intense cold can seriously affect dreaming. I have a fever at the moment and when I went to sleep last night with it I had about 4 VERY intence dreams. They all had to do with me being the leader of an army from a game I'm obsessed with. I woke up in a cold sweet after what I thought was every REM period (about every 2 hours) It was a terrible night though, I just wish I could experience dreams like that minus the flu.
