      Dream Guides?

In a few recent non-lucid dreams I met a man who I believe was helping me in my dreams. He was a white man in his late 30's looking like an academic metaphysicist. I believe this "dream guide" was trying to help me gain lucidity and overcome my nightmares (two things I was trying to work on).

In the first dream I was walking though a brightly light forest and I came to a large rock (maybe 25' high) blocking my path. The man appeared and told me I could fly to the top. He then said he would show me how easy it was. He proceeded to slowly float up the side of the rock tapping it with his toes like in a hong kong action flick. I began to laugh and said "that was nothing" and I swiftly hopped to the top. When I landed on the top of the rock he was waiting at the top smiling. I could tell he was just joking with me when he pretended to struggle to fly up the mountain.

In a dream I had last night, I was trapped in a "quiet-room" like they have in mental hospitals. There was an airduct, but it was too small to fit through. There was also an exit door which was open. As soon as I opened it, these zombies began to come up the corridor (there was a 50' tunnel before the exit to the street). These zombies looked like classic slow-moving dummies like in night of the living dead. There were 2 other people with me, the dream guide and a girl. Me and the girl had baseball bats. We started to try to fight off the zombies only to realize that they were really animatronic robots. The more robot-zombies we killed, the more that would come through the tunnel. Finally the guide told me "Watch, just don't hit them." He then casually started walking through the tunnel unarmed. So I dropped my bat and followed him through the tunnel to the outside. After that the dream went on another tangent but was normal and the nightmare ended. I have been harrassed with zombie nightmares for a few months and I never thought to not fight them. This is such a relief to me.

So has anyone else met a so-called "dream guide" before? Is this a common phenomenon that can be reproduced? There are many dreams I have that leave me stuck somewhere I dont want to be. If I don't go lucid, these can easily turn into nightmares. I am hoping I can met this dream guide again and help me overcome these nightmares. Any advice?

      Re: Dream Guides

      Hi

Yes i have had dream guides all my life. They aren't in every dream I hasten to add but are in important dreams. When I was young it was one old wizard in particular - now there are different ones.

Depending on your beliefs you can say that the dream guide is a manifestation of your own higher self - the part of you that knows how to get through in life. Or you can say that this is a spirit that is part of the dream realms. I think we get both kinds but that's just me

Regardless of that though, it sounds as though your willingness to work on your nightmares has really helped the dreams to move along. It's funny because I was thinking about zombie dreams earlier - a client had one. At the end of the day zombies are actually dead - so why would you fight things that are already dead and gone? It was just a thought that crossed my mind because it reminded me of a dream I had about being attacked by demons a few years ago. In that dream I'm fighting for my life and my Guide of the time says something to me. Suddenly I throw healing (I do healing/reiki etc in waking reality) at them and everything changes.

I would recommend writing to your dream guide in your journal - befriend them and trust they will come again into your dreams.

      Bright Blessings
