      Muliple dreams

this is a question for people that can remember multiple dreams a night:

Is it just me, or do all dreams in the same night seem to flow into eachother? Same scenery, or same general topic. For me, it's a bit hard to distinguish one dream from another.b

Over the past few weeks my dreams have been very simular and linked to oneanother, but usually they are totally different and unrelated to each other.

Yes, definitely. A few nights ago I had a dream that I was creating all the continents of the Earth by pushing down walls. This led my to my house, but I woke up and realized it was a dream.

Unfortunately, I was still dreaming hehe. I remembered this dream, even in my sleep. I told this dream to a police officer... remember this was all in a continuous dream. So yes, I believe dreams flow into eachother.

I have had vivid dreams about 4 times as long as the normal dream, and lucid ones so long I forget some of the middle parts.

Sometimes, you can fade in and out of the same dream and think it is multiple dreams. On occasion, I see the same idea repeated in a different context in the same night, but for the most part they mean different things. It's not unusual, but highly improbable that I get anything more than one pair of "matching" dreams.

Yeah, most of my dreams are like that. What I do to distinguish them is look for parts where huge gaps occur and I don't know what happened after that, or before something. That's where I can see which was a seperate dream and so on.

      This is totally normal.

My theory, is that in any REM-cycle you get one big-ass dream, but it's "cut" into various parts by illogical transitions, that your brain deciphers as starts and stops... it seems like seperate dreams that flow into one another, but they're just one big-ass dream.

      Yeah... or not, whatever.

That's is nothing unusual. It really depends on the person though. Some people can remember some dreams seperately. I can, sometimes, but usually, mine just flow together in one big dream. So, don't worry. At least you can recall the dream.
