Have you lost it and got it back?

Hey Everyone: Just wanted to say hi as I am new here. I was having a discussion about dreams with a friend and remember how I could once very easily control my dreams. I don't remember at what point I lost that ability but I want it back. Just wondering if anyone else has had that experience. I am 23 now and doon't think i've been able to do this since high school.

      Thanks,

      craig

If you work at it, there should be no reason why you would not be able to re-learn the skill. It's just a case of "If you don't use it you loose it". Just browse through our tutorails and pick an avenue of learning that'd work best for you! Be patient, and work hard, and you will get it sooner or later.

Funny, I was just wondering the same thing the exact moment I came across this thread.

I just had my first child a little over a month ago and I have lost quite a bit of Dream Recall and was wondering if it was only going to get worse....

I really just need to get my discipline back and start working on my dream journal agian...

I think you can definitely lose it and get it back. I think getting it back is all down to perseverance, persistence, and wanting to LD again. I hadn't had a lucid dream for months, till last week when i was ill in bed. I think this was because i had nothing to do but lie there and daydream all day long, which made my nighttime dreams richer. It was getting to the point where i could visualise a scene and end up in it, as a participant.
Most people lose it because of the pressure of life...something i'm taking into account!
I forgot how wonderful lucid dreaming could be...

Agreed with the above, for sure you can get it back. It tend to depend on how much you think about it, if every day you reflect on your dreams, and you're thinking about dreaming when you go to sleep, you'll remember them. If you keep up your journal entries, lucidity will defintiely return, even though it may take a while.
I've hear some people say to treat the subconcious in this area like a stubborn character. If you dont pay any attention to it, then nothing will come. But if it is always in your mind, you tell yourself constantly that you want to remember and control your dreams, want to dream tonight, will remember your dream. Then you will.

That's what I'm working at right at this moment. I had it when I was younger (11-15ish) now I'm 19 and having a little trouble. But it's slowly coming to me again.
