For quite a while it has been my belief that we actually have multiple bodies, and all of them have senses. Further, all of them are on and observing, and what we perceive is multiplexed from all the bodies' senses. That is, whichever sense is the most intense, we will perceive. Usually, it's only one at a time, however there are occasions when can receive from multiple inputs. For example, when transitioning from a WILD, the dreamscape can overlay on "reality" and become more intense until it absorbs the entire field of vision.

Not only did the WILD transition happen to me three times last night, but something even better, as far as evidence is concerned, happened this afternoon. I did not sleep well last night, so I was laying down for about 45 minutes. It turns out I started to daydream, and fantasize (no nothing sexual).

I was certainly daydreaming. However, when I would go to control the daydream, it's like I would lose clarity and be right back in reality. Then I would rewind the dream and focus back in, right where I decided to use control. My point is that what was done in the daydream I could feel on my bed. Two specific examples.
I was in a forest, and there was a giant gorilla. It was coming after me, and I was not really interested in it. My arms became like Elastigirl. I reached really far ahead, then braced myself with them as if they were crutches. I swung forward. I repeated this three more times.

The fourth time I did, I reached really far toward the corner of a metallic ramp. I actually felt myself swinging and I quickly got distracted. I focused right back in on the dream, and I was now facing backwards where I just came from.[/b]
I was standing in a darkened scenery, where there was a mountain, train tracks, and a tunnel going through. Something was parked in the tunnel's tracks, and it was quite explosive. Soon, something comes around the corner that's also on the train tracks. It is going slow, but not before long will it collide with the other vehicle.

I step off the tracks to my right, and start backing away from the impending collision. They hit, and quickly a flame breaks out and the parked vehicle absolutely explodes. It was filled with an explosive gas or something. I see coming from within the tunnel a giant flame like in a generic action movie. It comes out of the tunnel, and I can actually see the explosion combusting the air. The dream is now in slow motion, and I go flying about 500 feet into the mountain. I actually felt the flight and the sensation of being pushed backwards.[/b]
In addition to that, the rest of the daydream actually seemed like a dream. I was looking for someone in the dream, as an experiment, and I ran into her. I could tell it was not her, and that something was approaching from my right. I took my eye off her so briefly, and turned my head back to find she was actually an alien. Then I see her approach me from the side I just looked, and realized that was not her either. Quickly, the other alien showed it's face.

I was not expecting an alien to appear instead of her, or the second "her" to show. I ask what they want, and they say they have to go. Before they do, I ask them to open a door leading to that girl since they have that ability. I want the type of doorway I have seen during an OBE. They do, and I walk in there. It is completely bright yellow and shocking. I am blinded by the light, feeling around with my Elastigirl arms. The person I was looking for was in this bright square room of light. I had difficulty hearing what she said, like the bright light was interfering with her words. That's when it cut to the train scene.

All in all, I am postulating that dreaming is done at all times of the day, whether we are aware of it or not. The "dream stream" as I will call it is one of the more intense ones, that we start to see when our physical sight becomes boring and dull. Of course, there would be other bodies than the physical and dream bodies. There would be an astral body for astral projection, and another one for out of body experiences. With enough focus, you can transfer your awareness, or multiplex those senses instead of the physical ones.
