      Why is it...?

For the past few weeks I've been having trouble remembering my dreams when trying to do MILD and WBTB. So I had a bit of popcorn the last two nights and enjoyed a peaceful sleep.

I've had the best dream recall I've had in a while, remembering one long dream the first night and three long dreams last night. Why is it? Am I concentrating too much on my goal? Sometimes I wake up after each dream for about a minute, reflect on it, then fall back to sleep. I'd like to know how I can get both dream recall and lucidity attempts to work together. 'Cause every time I try, they go back and forth.

Lucids so far: 4 (3 DILD, 1 FILD) Although most are just DALDs.

You could try focusing on DILDs first. Do this by doing reality checks during the day and be aware of your environment (a good way is to think of everything around you as a dreamscape).

I would imagine trying to MILD when you've never had a LD makes it harder, since you won't know what becoming lucid feels like. This might not be true though.
Also, MILD is best attempted after a WBTB, not when you go to sleep for the first time. This is because you'll be able to concentrate on a dream you've just popped out of.

Going to sleep while thinking of dreaming is important for dream recall. You should be doing this when you try to have a MILD, so that makes little sense.

Thanks for the info. I do around 10 - 15 RCs a day...I don't know if that helps much but, what the heck.

How should I 'realize' everything as a dreamscape? I don't look for detail in my surroundings in my dreams, much like you don't look at each leaf on a tree you've seen hundreds of times before...I should put that to good use...

RC's are more like teching yourself a habit. If you get in to the habit of questioning reality and asking yourself whether you're dreaming or awake, this will eventually carry over into your dreams. For example (an extreme example ) If you reality check every time you take one step, you will pick up the "habit" of performing RC's when said action occurs. So, when you dream about taking astep, you will RC and realize you are dreaming.
'Realizing' everything as a dreamscape works in much the same way. If you 'realize' the waking world throughout your day you will eventually 'realize' the dreamworld.
      Good Luck
      Are you dreaming or awake?

Indeed, and don't think there's anything hard about what I mentioned. I simply meant pretending like you're dreaming by looking at (and otherwise perceiving) everything around you as if it were a dream. This will make you more aware during the day, and thus, it will also make you more aware during your dreams.

      Autosuggestion
Also, if you want to increase your amount of DILDs, you might try autosuggestion. This involves nothing more than telling yourself you want to have a lucid dream during the next night or in the near future.
The only important thing to remember in this case is that lucid dreaming is easy. Also, it's important to be patient, and know that you if you've failed once, you'll succeed some time soon.
Also, don't tell yourself something like: 'Tonight, I'm going to have a lucid dream!', as this might get you frustrated after failing once or twice. As LaBerge says in EWLD: "Look forward to it, but be willing to let it happen all in good time".

Doing these things will surely help you have your first lucid dream quickly. After that, you should to work on improving your chances of having a MILD.
I personally haven't been able to have a succesful WILD or MILD so far, but the techniques described about allow me to have 4 to 5 DILDs a month.

Hm, I think I'll try that. I get a lot of weird vibes sometimes, and I know something big will happen (which usually does )...I got some this morning, so I'm hoping it's related to lucids!
