Yep, I think you'll find that what you know in the dream world is different from what you know in waking life. REM sleep is also tied to memory, that is, it's believed to be the brain's sorting mechanism for all the input it receives during the day, as well as an opportunity to recall and retain memories from as far back as childhood. So, it's not uncommon to encounter ancient memories in dreams, as well as some more complete versions of fragmented waking memories. Not only that, but we're all here to explore the boundaries and possibilities of lucid dreaming, and the latter so far seems much greater than the former; and we're still just getting started. 8) |
