I've had a few recurring dreams about my house being destroyed in an earthquake while I was inside but none of them were any scarier than the one I just woke up from:
I was in my bedroom on the 2nd floor when the whole house started shaking (earthquake?) My friend who lived with me came into my room and asked what's going on as the floor tilted over a bit each time. The house would shake like once every minute, adding a bit to the tilt slightly each time. Needless to say, it was scary but the gradual tilting of the house made it even scarier b/c you didn't know what's going to happen next. By the time the angle of the tilt was unbearable, the whole top floor of the house started to spin around as it fell to the ground. I was disoriented but unharmed when I was ejected from the house as the foundation for the top floor hit the ground. When I regained my senses, I ran out and looked for the nearest payphone to call 911. It turns out all the houses in my neighborhood (including mine) were intact. So I concluded that I had been sleeping and the moment of "disorientation" was when I woke up from my dream...
So I head back to my house and see that my neighbor, this old man in a dress shirt mumbled to me about some evil premonitions. I came back inside and went straight to the attic where a family friend was staying. She greeted me but seemed a bit uneasy. Then I went back to my room and my mom and sister* were in the vicinity acting and talking a bit weird. I ask them if they're ok and I end up telling them about the "dream" I had and asked if they too had the same dream. They then laughed at me saying it was so ridiculous. Not long after, the shakes began all over again! However this time, they were milder and didn't cause the house to tilt. Ever minute or so the house would shake but no tilting or damaged resulted though the shaking grew stronger each time. Finally, I was woken up by my alarm!
As with many people's dreams, when they're put into words, they don't seem as scary and this is no exception, unfortunately. Another thing worth noting is that I attempted reality checking several times and they all passed (hence, I assumed it was all reality.) There were even times when I tried to talk to myself that "this is all a dream" but my conscience very strongly insisted on the contrary, probably even stronger than if I were to do the same in REAL life. I really hope these dreams aren't some sort of a premonition b/c in real life, I live less than a mile from the fault line.
Since I was falsely awoken in that dream, there's still a possibility that this is still a dream rite now. Can anyone confirm for me?
* - I don't have a sister but for some reason, had one in the dream.
