big problem

lately i havent had a dream. its acually been for ever. i am new to lucid, but im talking about normal dreams. i do have a dream journal, and i do write my dreams down. but for about 2 months i havent had a dream..argggghh, any1 know what the matter? any suggestions u can give me to have another dream?

If you're not remembering your dreams, it could be many different things. Sometimes, dream recall can suffer when you're really stressed. If so, you might try meditation or relaxation. It helped me a lot. You could also try waking yourself during a period of your sleep when you'd be dreaming- this is a few hours after you fall asleep. Set an alarm clock or something, and journal anything you remember right away. If you don't want to do that, then as soon as you wake up, you should lie as still as you can and think about nothing else except what you just dreamed about. Don't even journal yet, just replay the dream in your mind and lie in bed, just as you were when you woke up. If you can remember any tiny detail of your dream at all, even if it's just an emotion or feeling, write it down! It will help in the long run. I hope this helps!

Try to forget about it, worrying is probably not helping. You will start remembering your dreams again soon, so be ready for when it happens but stop making an effort to remember them, just let it happen in it's own time. Be cool.

You're too stressed out about it. That's counterproductive. Relax and it will eventually come back. Try the WBTB method for a high chance of success.

I think the problem is that by saying you are having a dry spell and have no recall you are fortifying this thought in your mind and it is becoming reality, and you really can't remember any dreams. What you have to do is tell yourself, and BELIEVE, that you CAN recall your dreams, and that you WILL recall them tonight. Be ready to DJ. Dwell on remembering all your dreams, and your recall will improve. This may sound like a lot of effort, but it is no more difficult, and doesn't take more time or effert than it took me to write this.

Try this. Drink alot of water or juice during the evening/night hours up until going to bed. You'll wake up more during the night to go to the bathroom. This method of slowly wakening will give you extended REM time and you'll have more dreams during the night. By slowly becoming awake you'll be more able to lie still and recall the recent dreams as opposed to moving quickly to the blare on an alarm clock. Of course this can ruin a full nights sleep though!! I have always craved cold water/juice during the evenings and generally will recall a few dreams every time I wake up during the night. Of course I always tell myself I should not drink so much liquids during the evening so I can get a better nights sleep!!
