      Tonight is the Night!

      I am so tired of not having lucid dreams but i have finally realized why. I AM NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH! i have been attempting lucid dreams for the past year and yet i do not remember a single one. So, i have my dream journal by my bedside, ready to go, i just downloaded a mp3 for induction ( i have never tried using these before ), I have been asking my self for the past two days at least 2 times an hour if i am dreaming, i have been reading about lucid dreaming all day, and i have set my alarm clock to 2:30 in the morning ( i go to bed at 9:30, this is also a method i have never tried ). Basically i am trying all the methods i know about in one night. wish me luck! and another thing....can someone plz post what i should be having for dinner and/or snack tonight + any other techniques i can try tonight will be great.

      Good luck, dont over try. I saw in some post that drinking coffee to wake yourself up right before you go back to sleep works but I haven't tried. Good luck again

      Hey there metallica (that's one of my best friend's favorite bands, BTW), and welcome to DV!

      It's great to hear that you are dedicated and prepared to work for your goal. But beware -- sometimes you can try TOO hard, also. I think the major keys to success are to have confidence that you will succeed, but also make up your mind that you will not get frustrated if you do not succeed -- after all, there's always tomorrow night.

      Yeah, i agree! If you know too well that you're gonna have one, and then don't, it really lowers your belief in yourself!

      Try this out;

      [list]Set an alarm for about 4 in the morning
      Read, think and daydream about lucid dreaming, as you're lying in bed
      Resolve to remember your dreams!
      Sleep
      Record whatever you can remember from your dreams when you awaken!
      If you wake before the alarm goes off, go back to sleep
      When you awaken near/on the alarm, get up, go to the toilet, have some food/drink, read/think/daydream some more
      While falling asleep, use the MILD technique, telling yourself you'll remember you're dreaming, and visualising yourself realising you're dreaming
      Fall asleep while doing this
      If you wake up, without having one, stay still; try to fall asleep again, visualising and reinforcing you're gonna remember you're dreaming
      Wake up; hopefully with the memory of your LD!
      [list]

      For me this has had 100% success rate when done properly, so far!
