I agree with BeautifulDreamer.
Just try totally immersing yourself in the imagery of your previous dream before you fall asleep. Try to play out the events in your mind as they unfolded before, as if you were actually having the dream at that moment. Hopefully this will cause the dream to continue as you fall asleep. This has worked for me in the past with dreams I really liked and wanted to repeat.
The same can be done with dreams you'd like to have. Set up your ideal scene in your mind and believe you are there. Think about it all day and especially as you are drifting off to sleep.
