"Music as a trigger" put into practice?

I was skimming through the Dream Control forum (As if I had any to speak of) and read that, for one person, playing music while going to sleep increases lucidity and control enormously. I think this makes sense... After all, you'd hear it and think- "Say, I was listening to this when I went to bed... I must be dreaming!"
Has anybody put this into practice? I think it may also be a way for me to hone my dream recall- if I can hear the music while I'm dreaming, perhaps if I hear it when I wake up, I'll suddenly remember more... Does anybody know of the effectiveness of this?

I often hear sounds from the outside world while asleep. I'll stop and think "Where is that noise coming from?", then I'll realize that I'm actually dreaming but I always immediately wake up after the realization.

I think it could be an effective method to induce an LD. You need to get just the right volume, that won't wake you up, and loud enough so that you recognize it's coming from the outside world.
