Can lucid dreams make you slim

Right i know lucid dreams can make you improve in tests and sports and make your reactions a lot faster just by training inm your dreams.
Now i wonder if you can send some kind of sublinemal massages to your mind by lucid dreaming or make your self think your a lot better aswell.
I'm not sure what ways you can do but can people please tell me because i don't want to be fat for the rest of my life and lucid dreaming is the only thing i'm good at.
Don't say that i should get off my arse becasue i do a 23mile bike ride on sundays.
Also i would like to motivate myself in myt dreams so i do a lot more sports.
Oh and i'm not that fat its just that my brother makes fun at me and i would like to prove that i'm more fit then he is(when i mean fit i mean from a girls point of view)
Im not afraid of the dark, its whats in it.
*the lights turn off and the whole room goes dark*
Oh im fin- Ahhhhhhhh its a scary figment of my imagination.

Hrm well first of all I don't think it's actually proven that lucid dreams make you better in sports. They can make you have better strategy but that is about all it can do for you. For the second part... that's more hypnosis than lucid dreaming.

And anyways... doing a 23 mile bike ride on sundays isn't going to magically make you slimmer. You should have a doctor recommended diet as well as frequent exercise (rather than one really intense session of exercise). But a doctor would tell you a better way to exercise And the motivation part... that's more hypnosis than lucid dreaming (but I suppose you can hypnotize yourself in a lucid dream. Lastly... get your priorities in order because if one of the only reasons you want to be slim is to prove your brother is not as good as you it's not a very good reason.

With healthy meals and good exercice, you won't have nothing to worry about. And I don't think it's a good idea to rely entirely on LDs to loose weight (If that's even possible).
With that being said, there's nothing wrong with having an extra-large oreo blizzard in your LD.

      You havn't seen my brother

Well considering my brother calls me fat and tells the whole world about is a good enogh reason any way. I'm being bullied, also i don't want me to call me fat anyway because i don't like going swimming because i think that im that fat.(even though alot of people have said that im not even fat my brother has put me on an all time low).

What you described sounds more like hypnosis. Have you ever thought about attempting self hypnosis?

I read an article once in Reader's Digest about a woman who lost weight with Lucid Dreaming. Of course, she combined it with changing her eating habits during the day but she would tell herself to hold off on urges to eat cake or sweets by saying that she'd eat them at night.

She would become lucid and have a field day eating all the things she was depriving herself of during waking hours.

      Yes i do know

Yes i do know you have to train hard and eat on a diet but i'm just woundering if lucid could help because if it can then it could be a new fitness training thing and it if it can i'm open to it. If it can then it could help other people too and if it can then it good also be helpful in any way so that you can become skinny. Any way you can become skinny can help you (only if its healthy) and to keep you healthy so all in all if it helps but sdtill have to do training then yes i am open to it.

In summary to my earlier post, yes, I think LD'ng can help you become slimmer. LD'ng can help you with many many things. It's definitely not a substitution but more like a supplement.

In my opinion, LDing could hypothetically help you to "eat healthier and get more exercise" in real life, if you used it sort of for self-hypnosis. BUT there isn't any shortcut to making yourself slim. Eventually you're gonna have to change your diet and get more exercise.... that's really all it comes down to. LDing, I suppose, could be an aid to your "willpower", but, essentially, you've got to have the strength of will to do the work yourself...

What you certainly can do, is eating the most delicious unhealthy food in your lucid dreams without feeling guilty about it. I always eat in my ld's lol. Maybe it can help you to stay on a diet, because you don't have to miss out on unhealthy food... Maybe dreamfood is not enough, I really don't know because I'm not overweight and I study foods, so I know about healthy thinks and stuff.

      Good luck anyway!

      I disagree.
If you can maintain a level of clarity in your lucid dreams you CAN become better in any area. How. repetition. Which means practice. And through controlled lucid dreams you can do just that.
You can improve hand eye coordination and quite possibly achieve a better work ethic. One you could apply to loosing weight in your waking life.

Technically your brain burns more calories while in a dream than just resting. It uses the same amount of energy that it does when it is actually performing the task in a waking state. It knows NO difference.
Although minuscule, a very active dream cycle would burn more calories.

Hey im not over wight for my heigt and age its just that i think i' fat because my brother keeps making fun of me because he thinks im fat. Still its worth the try to eat nice unhealthy foods in my dreams and eat healthy food in reality. Well i do have my 5 portions a day of fruit and veg so im not far of from a healthy diet.

Oh so if i do exersize in my dreams and make them more active they could make help out. Not completely but a small difference can go a long way so thanks for the info every one.
I shall go on a diet and have more exersize.
I also wounder is if your alot more heathy does that mean you get more dreams or if your smarted you get a lot mure dreams. (When i mean this i mean the recall or the power of lucidty).
Im not afraid of the dark, its whats in it.

I read an article in a magazine a while ago, and it did an experiment with one group of people not exersizing their pinkie muscles, one of the groups exersizing their pinkie muscles twice a week, and the other group just thinking about their pinkies. It turned out that the group that actually exsersized their muscles improved their strength by around 25%, and the group that just thought about it increased their strength by around 10-15%. Im not remembering the numbers exactly though. But it turned out that just thinking about the muscles made the reaction time between their pinkies and their brain better. I'm thinking that this has something to do with it.

If you want, you could always control your dream so you could eat as much good food as you wanted in your dreams, and then eat healthy in reality.

I agree with Matt on this one. You will still have to put in a lot of work into your daily regimine..You will still have to eat right and excercize. You can't just shortcut your way to health. I'm also a bit overweight and need to become healthier. Loosing pounds is hard for me too. But I believe that LDing could help with the mental aspect of being healthy, which is very very important.

Yes i need the mental power

Yes ofcorse i know i need to keep up the diet and evertything but i don't have much will power when it comes to exercise. I mean i have the will power to do hard enduring logical things like puzzles, reading, solving things and drawing (you neeed a lot of will power to do a 6 hour test on an art GCSE)but i need a lot of will power to do physical stuff.
Also my brother isn't a jurk as i get bullied every now and then and my brother is very protective of me when it comes to something i really don't like but i can see the reason he needs to let of steam becausw he has a harder friendship with his friends and he needs to let steam off. He just does in a goofy way, he sings your so fat hahahaha your so fat , and does verious other stuff but i can see why but still it does effect me.
Oh i'm 15 if you want to know.
Oh he also pokes me and says, oh why can't i be fat so i can pop(poke in the languege of my twin ) myself. Oh he's one minute older then me so he has to take the older brother Rule.
Besides that it does get on my nerves and i'm sure lucid dreaming will make me more confident and give me more will power

I'm not sure about arobic excersize, but for lifting weights, going 1-2 times a week is minimum to maintain where you are at.

I don't eat completely healthy, like I do eat my share of junk, but along with being 18 (having a good metabolism) and lifting/jogging 2-3 times a week, I maintain weight pretty easily (actually slowly I've been dropping weight, I went from 195 to just under 190 in the past 3 weeks). I expect to drop down to 180 by the end of the summer, and I'm 6'1-6'2 in height.

It's about motivation (to be honest I don't have much.I want to be able to eat junk once in a while without putting on the weight heh, and it doesn't hurt to have a fit body when at the beach 8)

I refuse to pass 200lbs in weight... unless its gained by muscle.

Heh. For the record, I'm 5ft11in, 210lbs. I'm not gonna say I'm slim, but, I'm not fat, either. I'm just pretty damn solidly built.... hehehehehe. For me, "slim" is probably bout 195lbs, so, yah, I need to loose a little bit, but honestly, I'm not too bothered.

It's all about exercise and sensible, healthy eating. And I'm not talking bout diets or anything stupid like that, cos diets, even when they DO work, only work when you're actually on them. Just, cut the junk food, cut the sugar (soft drinks, etc), and eat good, healthy meals in sensible portions. Drink enough water. And get some exercise.

      Ha i beat you all

      Im aged 15, 5ft 6 1/2 and i weigh 220lbs so im fatter.
I want to be taller and slimer (even though i'm probably going to stop growing taller soon, i've only recently started to have growth pains in my legs so i might be taller yet ) oh and the other reason im want to be slimer is that during pubity your muscles develope and that when its best to get stronger and fiiter because it gives you a boost in the upcoming years to be stronger.
Oh i hate football/soccer so that out of the question but i do love cycling so that might help a lot to.
Oh and blade5x how long in your 1-2 times a day (is it 20min because im sure i've heard somewhere that its good to have 20mins of exercise at least a day to get fit and live healthy).

      Oh i forgot

I forgot to say this; Right i also play the flute which means my lung capcity is incredibly higher then an average man. In my science i beat my science teacher who is also rugby teacher in a lung capcity test (you know you blow in to the water and make the ball rise). I had rised the water to about 820 and my science teacher had 640 and the tallest and most fittest(in muscle way not i like him way) and the strongest in the wholeof year10 had 850. So my lung capcity is quiet high so im sure that might help in my exercise plus i can't wait to lucid dream about making myself do exercise and to dream about my goal(im sure if i dream about my self that im a lot fitter or someone else is in my dreams im sure i will start to hate that person and get motivated a bit).

Cycling would be good. But I highly recommend basketball for a full-body workout. And I don't mean just shooting baskets -- get into some one-on-one or two-on-two games. After five minutes you'll find out what kind of shape you're really in.
