Well, I think there IS a 100% LD method, but...

...Unfortunately, it is a computer program made exclusively in russian. It's called MindInstaller.

(This is not an advert, the program is freeware).

Personally, I think it's one of the MOST EFFECTIVE methods to achieve an LD that exists in the world. Basically, you need to train with it about 7~8 times a day for two weeks, 20 minutes each exercize. And it's a horrible pain.

The thing is, the program literally burns different instructions into your subconsciousness, accompanied by the fact that you have to read the instructions out loud about 8 times each time, and listen to them around the same amount of times.

I found that after 2 weeks, an LD is pretty much guaranteed, as you start fully realising where you are about every half an hour (it's not distracting, it's actually pretty refreshing).

After using that program, I get about 4 - 5 LD's a week minimum, and have been doing so for months.

The problem is that - you guessed it - it exists exclusively in russian.

So, first of all, if you are russian, there's your guaranteed LD. It's a pain, but it works better than anything.

If you're not... well, that's the point of my post. Below I will post the link for the program, those interested in it can check it out. There's a russian readme included.

I was wondering if anyone knows of an english equivalent, or failing that, can program acceptably well with Visual Basic or something like that. The program itself is fairly uncomplicated - it just flashes phrases on a screen x times a second for an x amount of time (it's adjustable), accompanied by coloured flashes and a spectrum background.

Then there is a textfile you have to read, and you have to use a microphone to record the same phrases, and listen to them as well 7 times each exercize.

Basically, this is a 100% method for LD'ing, and I wanted to share it.
      The program is below:

      http://mindinstaller.nm.ru/MindInstaller105.zip

(There are 2 .reg files included. If the program stops working, just double-click them. Win version only.)

This program is also disliked, because it's a horrile pain to use during the first two weeks (you have to literally spend hours upon hours every single day reading out the same instructions and looking at the PC screen). Well, no gain without pain. If you don't want guaranteed LD's, go back to your 1 LD per month and your 100-page thick dream journal.

I like the effort and time put in to explore this whole other side of consciousness
it's not really something I want to rush

If you can't understand it, unfortunately it won't help you - as you have to learn the instructions (ideally) in your motherlanguage, or at least in a language that you understand very, very well - russian in this case.

Sure, it's your choice. Personally, I just found that 1 LD a month was fairly useless. The more LD's you have, the more universally useful things for your psyche you can do (otherwise you'd use the rare times to get some real fun). That way you can do both.

Plus, the best way to explore your consciousness (and subconsciousness) is in an LD.

      would you? [/b]
Well, this is different... This is mechanical. A drug that induces LD's WOULD have side-effects because of their very nature.

Generally, this program is no different than training to do reality checks - just much more efficient.

The point was me wondering if there is something like that in english, or if someone could code something like that.

This is awesome...is there really no english version? I mean, why wouldn't there be? "Mind" and "Installer" are both english words.

Is there a way to request an english version, or perhaps some computer wiz on here can go all up into the .ini files or whatever, and code it some how?

I think this idea of this program is simply awesome.

I assume the programmer could speak some english, and english titles always sound so cool.

That's what I was asking. There are no .ini files, but it shouldn't be too hard to code, and the .rar has all the picture files in it as well. Sadly, my limited C++ skills can't do it, or else I would.

nothing in science is 100%. Anyways it doesn't sound all that magical. *[/b]
No, it's not magical, it's very practical. As for 100% - if you keep doing it a good amount of times a day, you WILL get LD's - maybe not in two weeks, maybe not as often, but all it does is create an automatic reflex to realise where you are from time to time, and so far, it has worked for everybode I know.

The other side is that doing the program at the beginning is nothing short of pure torture... You need a lot of willpower to force yourself to stare at the damn screen and read out the instructions.

Sounds like getting in the habit of checking your state frequently, which does work. Adding the amount of energy put into it I bet youd have a lot of lucid dreams.

      A few questions:
      1) So.... if it's Russian how am I supposed to understand it? (Except my Rabbi speaks Russian lmao)
2)Is their a mac version? Or do I have to use Virtual PC
3)Will this program cause me to rely on it?
4)Does it help improve dream recall?

I am really hesitant to let anything into my head, especially subliminals like this thing appears to use.

A program like that should be fairly easy to create, especially using C# or VB.NET. Unfortunately I don't have the time right now so I guess I'll just keep on doing what I am right now.

Is that really subliminal? I mean, half the work is not really the program, but you reading and speaking the phrases. As for the program, what can it possibly do? Text can't cause you to go rob a bank.

But I think a lot of people would appreciate a method that works well, if nothing else helps.

      1) You're not.
      2) No.
      3) After a while, it'll be automated. You might still want to do it a couple of times a week, though, for more LD's.
      4) It causes you to have more vivid dreams, which, in turn, might lead to better recall, yess, but it doesn't do anything specific about that.

As far as I can see, not any more that you going around the town, asking constantly if you're awake, it just works a lot faster. There's also a read-me included in the file.

Tell me your results!

Can you tell us what the instructions are, in English?

What does the program do that simple study and repitition won't or can't accomplish?

Oh... guess I misunderstood. Thought you knew first-hand that it worked 100% because you spoke Russian.

I tried it on Virtual PC.... even if I don't speak Russian... I wanted to see what it was.

You tell me if this is supposed to happen, or will this just add on to the numerous other problems I'm having with Virtual PC (which by the way is version 7 and is running Windows 2000 proffesional):

I start up Virtual PC, and open the mindinstaller folder. I choose the Mindinstaller file with the radioactive simple on it. It pops up with this message and plays a ding sound. I have NO idea what the message says. I press ok, and then it pops up with this odd thing. It has 3 different buttons to press. If I press the second, it will show me a russian .html file. If I press the third, then nothing happens if I press the first button, then it will minimize itself and go into this new page. It is a grey background with russian words or something changing every 2 seconds. Occasionally it will screw up, messing up the resolution and showing an ugly gradiental circular image. If I listen closely, I can hear some cracks at the beggining. Then nothing. Then when I get fed up and quit, it brings up a "ToRead" file, with more giberish.

It's got me confused, that's for sure

First of all, Google "AppLocale" to get the program in normal russian.

Second, if you're not russian, this progam will be as much help to you as dried dog poo on a stick.

Third, for those that ARE russian, here are the instructions:

      http://mindinstaller.nm.ru

ToRead.txt

ToRead.txt.

      http://mindinstaller.nm.ru/faq.html
      http://mindinstaller.nm.ru/hymn.html

Well you could use dried dog poo on a stick as a prank so then it does have its uses... maybe.

But can you tell me if it at least worked normally on Virtual PC, or do I need to hit myself in anger of VPC being annoying again.
