Out of curiosity, does this happen to anyone else?

In your dreams do you find that half of the time it is really hard to run (feels as if your trying to run through waist deep sludge), hard to see because everything goes very blurry and loses it's clarity, and it's hard to be heard.. Like you could stand in a room and be screaming your face off but nobody would pay any attention.

      Also, does this mean anything?

I've personally never had it happen, but it's pretty common for most people. A lot use it as a dream sign. Anyway, it doesn't mean anything in itself, but usually such things happen in nightmares, and content of nightmares is always revealing on some level. The meaning lies in what you're running from, and why you fear it.

Yes, but what may be happening may be entirely counter-intuitive. What may be happening is that your sense of time resolution has drastically increased in speed, so that it seems that things have slowed down. Just as in Slo-Mo Photography, the 'trick' is to shoot many more frames per second.

The way to verify this is, when things bog down, look around. If EVERYTHING has slowed down, then this means that your SENSE of time has changed -- that you are now able to see much more detail as everything is unfolding so much slower. It is actually a very good advantage. Martial Artists study for decades to be able to do this very thing at will. The reason they can do so many thing so quickly and with such precision is because they are experiencing Time as unfolding much more slowly then it does for us. What seems like only a few seconds to us, rolls by like minutes for them.

So, the next time you have such a dream. Look around.

But usually such SlowDowns are brought on by adrenaline... some stress.

For young adults there is a common enough dream motif -- running from Death. You see, for young people, there is the question of Mortality. Young People have not often reflected upon their Mortality. That is why young soldiers make the best soldiers -- they don't think they can be killed, or they just never thought about it.

So dreams of Running from Death occur for those mature enough to finally be thinking of issues of their own mortality.

Here the advice on that -- whatever it is, let it kill you, but stay in the Dream. If you can stay dead in a dream for about 20 seconds without waking up, then you will come back alive. This is VERY Important. When one come back from the Dead in a Dream, it is a signal that one has attained to Spiritual Immortality, at least in the Dream Realms. It is one of those "Today you are a Man" kind of Passage Moments.

Nope, the whole running thing doesn't happen to me. I can actually run way faster in a dream than when not dreaming. About the other thing, I don't really scream in my dreams to get peoples attention. I kinda just get to them mentally and think they hear me.

I had a spectacular series of recurring dreams in one night that ended in a nightmare I had before and I ran just fine from whoever was after me.

I've had this happen many times, but not out of fear. The times that it has happened was during some sort of track oriented get together. I tried to push myself to run fast, but all i could do was stomp the ground harder. It was quite disturbing at the time.

I think i shall become a ninja so i can become super fast and conquer time. My training begins soon.

one of things I've been trying to do for a very long time is to live conciously for a very long time inside of a second or to live years inside a dream- the best I've gotten is by making days off feel verrrrry long, which isn't a bad thing

Well when im trying to run, its not like Im running out of fear. Just running in general. Sometimes even walking. A lot of the times Im basically paralyzed and it is EXTREMELY difficult to move. Or see. Or talk. Hahaha, it kind of sucks. But I guess it's a good thing because it's an excellent dream sign.

I can honestly say that I've never had a nightmare. Not one.

Used to happen to me alot when I was younger. I would even sometimes give up in dreams like that because it was just to hard to move and required to much effort. Haven't had one like that in years though.

      lazy minds...

I guess our minds just believe that whatever we are trying to do is too strenuous. If i was a brain I wouldn't want to try too hard at anything, except maybe sleeping. 8)

So this morning I had a dream, only instead of time slowing down, it actually sped up. Here's what happened.

I was on a mountain, at a business, and employees were in the parking lot attacking me. My brother borrowed my car, went to his wife's parent's house, borrowed their car too, and went to a job interview out of state. I can't find my car, and when it's all clear I am left to drive the van with a whole bunch of relatives down a mountain while being chased. What's worse, is the steering wheel is actually a joystick, the brakes are just buttons on the floor.

I knew I just had to prioritize and take things one at a time. Thankfully, a lady stepped onto the side of the van, and reached through the window to steer as I only had to slow the van down when necessary. Otherwise, we went driving down a curving mountain at good speed, although it was in fast mode. This lady seemed just like the librarian I had met in a previous dream, an extremely peaceful and realistic dream character that seems she may have actually been there.

It was like i was thinking it was a game that I couldnt close the screan, then on the wall like themomiter security things I pushed a button and it got dark, I was trying to get away from this young girl like 8 years old, "you cant escape from me" then the lightsslowly turned back on, then I woke up

When that happens, if you go near paralyzed where you can barely move...

Use it as a dream-sign, and then have an OBE in your dream! Yes, I said that, have an OBE in your dream. Just kind of leave that slow, heavy body, and you'll end up having a nice, light-weight, floaty spirit like body that is much easier to manuver

Yes absolutely, in fact, that's how most of my LD's start, I'll be in a horrible nightmare and I'll need to run towards or away from something, and I'll be trying to run as fast as possible but only going at a trot, that's when I realize not so much that I'm dreaming, but that I can do anything to get out of the situation. One time I had to chase after a man that took my brother and the weights in my legs kicked in so I teleported in front of the man to catch him.
