I found that quick rapid breathing works for me.
Some people swing their arms.
some people spin, but the problem there is that Spinning often will jump you to a new Dream Locale, which is great, if you don't mind popping into a New Dream Location.
but all of these things can extend Lucid Dreaming only incrementally. REM Cycles are implacable, and one cannot sleep forever (whatever Vanilla Sky might think).
I like the rapid breathing because it also seems to augment Consciousness Energy. In Lucid Dreaming you will notice that Consciousness Energy is a perceptable quantity. when the Consciousness Energy is at its peak you will have more energy to think with, and more energy to form the stuffs of your perceptions. There is an Intensity. and you can see it when it is slipping away. So you start rapid breathing and you can see the energy getting pumped back up a bit.
