Thread: Is there something you can only do in dreams?

Once one is lucid, people often have the ability to perform several feats that would be impossible in the real world, from fluency to flight.

Yep, obviously flying is something I do in dreams that I can't do in real life. I can also jump very high and run faster.

I can get chicks to like me in my lucid dreams.

I can turn people into food and eat them. :|

Oh and I can fly of course. And shoot laserbeams at giant killer cows.

I didn't mean while lucid.

In my dreams, I can outrun bears (in fact I just outran a bear 2 nights ago.)

And yes, Giraffe Toothbrush, it wasn't lucid.

You can do anything in your dreams even non-lucid ones.

i can't do anything in real life. i'm just a little brain in an even littler jar. but in my dreams =o i can do anything and everything. sleep around with the crew of buffy, chat with jim jarmusch over coffee, warp rooms into coconuts, eat rooms and live in coconuts. you name it i've done it. but only in dreams!

I was referring to real-life abilities, not living in coconuts or doing strange things with cows and the like.

Following your original idea of singing, I think it happens to pretty much everyone.
I, myself, can too sing quite nicely in dreams, whilst in real life... well.. let's say I would need to buy new glass for the windows everytime I tried, so to say.

Same goes for running. My real life speed would be average, whilst my dream speed if beyond fast.

It's pretty normal I guess. I hope that's what you wanted to be asnwered.

For a lot of these geeky guys, the one thing they can only do in their dreams is... getting laid.

Well Leo, I don't think it's a bad thing to dream about such content, if that's what the dreamer really wants. However if you mean they dream way too much of it, then I would have to share the same oppinion as you.

I've had a few of 'those' dreams myself, as I believe we all did at some point. I just found it to be a waste of lucid time to focus on such an obsolete task - I rather try other interesting stuff, for variety's sake.
