Thread: fear of sleeping??? Insomnia.

Hello my name is jonas Im 16 and im new here. I am very greatful for wondering onto this website because I need to discuss my problems with sleeping. I have fear of falling asleep i dont know why i allways have even since i was very little. BUT! when i was little i had very very differant experiences. It wasnt just an ordinary dream and it wasnt an OBE...

I have had an OBE before and its ntohing liek this. What i used top experience as a child is so deep in the sub-consious i guess that its impossible to explain. So everynight i ussually avoid sleeping for no reason i just dont liek it.

The only time i ever get a good nights sleep is when im physically and psychologically exhausted. This is obviously unhealthy. I also want to mention That a few monthes ago i went through a psychotic episode from MDMA and it was very terrifying i must say. I will never look at a person as psychotic ever again nor label a person as psychotic either. what they have to go through is the most raw fear a person can go through. and i sometimes have dreams with people telling me my brain is working too much. Can anybody help me?

I hate that drug btw it ruined my ability to live a normal life. Im still trying to slowly recover so dont look at me as a druggie i dont do them.

If its nightmares you fear, then lucid dreams can help you by hacking that monster to pieces or putting a stake through the vampire's heart. Other than that, all I can say right now is to avoid Metallica songs. Also, perhaps its your sub conscious telling you to relax, or you have an aversion to relaxing. Hypnosis can also help with that I think.

My highschool psychology teacher was named Jonas and he was the man. Being the man probably comes with the name, so I'm sure you can do it =D

haha thanks guys, I dont get nightmares at all or even if i do i ussually get to kill the bastard whos tryin to kill me, or i become freinds with him or something... but its not nightmares that scare me its just sleep. thanks cool i think this is what im talkiing about "Clinophobia" thanks for the link i now understand much much more about what this condition is. This phobia seems very silly and robotic now that i know im not the only one with it
