      Dream journal software

Hi, I have tried searching a few places after a good dreamjournal software. Does anyone have a good suggestionlink to what i should choose? I write all my dreams initially on paper of course, but it would be nice to have a place to organise it on my computer, and also be able to search different categories, names places, themes and so on.

I was thinking of something where you could register persons, locations etc , so one could find for later analysis. Plus, in word wouldnt you have to save everyday as a new file, or is it another way. Im very newbie on this so please give me some input.

That would be pretty nice. For word, you can save it as a file, like "dream journal.doc" after the first day, and put it somewhere where you'll find it. Then the next day open the file. Go to the end, and then from the pull-down menu select INSERT ---> BREAK. Then on the menu select page break and click OK. Then put in that day's dreams on the new page and save (Ctrl+s). If you want to search for something just press Ctrl+f, and type what you're looking for in the pop-up window.

Another idea which will let you search for stuff for later is to create a yahoo/gmail account, and then write all your entries in emails on another account and email them to yourself. Then just use the search mail feature and search for whatever you want.

If I knew programming I would try to create a simple program for this as a fun challenge, but sadly I do not have programming knowledge.

Identity X's DJ software thread. He already made something similar, why don't you check that out?

What an interesting program. I've always used whatever word processor is on the PC I'm using at the time like most people here have said, if you don't have Microsoft word or anything like that you could download OpenOffice for free, I think the web site is more than likely http://www.openoffice.org/ but I could be wrong.

I haven't tried out the Dream Journal Program yet but I did download it, I'm a little curious I'll admit.

Hmm, i get the same error message as the other in the java software. I did some google searching, and found a software called Alchera. Anyone tried this? Seems to have the search functions i like, but it cost a bit. If i dont like it, maybe some ordinary diary program will do. Seems better than having a bunch of word files anyways.

I don't think any of them are free though.
