Need help going Lucid with Reoccuring dreams

I have had lots of dreams about my guinea pigs escaping from there hutches, usually 1 a month, sometimes more.

Is there a way to become lucid from this as i know that it is a dream sign? How can i think to myself that i am dreaming?

      Thanks for the replies

Well, 1/month is not all that recurring. 1+ a week is kinda recurring and it's hard to get lucid off anything less than that. To get lucid in a recurring dream you have to state why this event that you see so often is a dream and do that every time you hit the bed.

In your case it may look like this : " My guinea pigs are safely locked up, their cage is sturdy and they cant escape unless I let them out" You may alter this in any way you wish. Then remind yourself that every time you see your guinea pigs escaping you should perform a reality check before doing anything about the escape.

Well, yes, that would be a splendid plan.

But there may be a better way. The dream IS reoccuring. That means that the Dream is trying to make a point that you have consistently been missing. it would be more likely for to go Lucid if you were to resolve on solving the problem.

But first, what is the problem.

When the hamsters escaped, what was your response? Whatever it was and is, it is wrong. My guess is that this lost hamster dream is a variation of the Lost Anything Dream in which you attempt to find whatever it is you have lost. That is the mistake right there.

Remember what the Angel said to Lott's wife, "Don't look back". In Dreams as in Life, never look for the lost. Never look back. Don't waste time trying to pick up the pieces of any of your workaday disasters. Move on.

But your pattern and habit is to look for the lost. if, in the dream, you remember to simply let go, then it is this CHANGE in your habitual behavior that might bring on what we call a Spontaneous Lucid Dream. Afterall, when you begin to act with conscious awareness, instead of just out of habit, then what a better excuse is there for you then to become Lucid.

and, indeed, you need to be aware that Lucidity is no accident. You might begin to consider that these Lucid Episodes are controlled by.. are the gift of a Higher Mind ... a Higher Dream Mind. Try to discern what it is that this Higher Dream Mind wants of you. You will have more luck that way then if you simply go on supposing that it is all quite random.
