This question is mostly for people proficient in lucid dreaming. Anyone who has a comment regarding the length of their LDs is welcome, of course, but I'm mostly interested in posts from people who have practiced and worked on their lucidity and focus for some time.

I'm wondering how long, with practice, the average person can expect to remain lucid in a dream? According to EWOLD and several posts here, dream time isn't too far off from real time, so for those of you who actually have a feel for how long you're aware in your dream, what's your average lucidity time? What's your maximum?

Any input is appreciated, since I can't draw much from personal experience.

I remember one of my LDs felt like it lasted for 20 minutes. I kept stabilizing the dream world by looking at my hands and then at faraway objects, and back every so often. Vividness was stable, and it was amazing. I remember I actually got bored at one point because I couldn't think of anything to do so I just sat in a chair and studied the dream world.

I've had lucids that seem like they last a real long time, I have a horrible time keeping skills though, my friend claims to have spend 100 years in a dream but I doubt him, he actualy claims that they are simpley false memorys which he claimed to have experienced with 110% clarity.

yeah he's talked about how he lived at diffrent land masses and stuff, I'm really wanting to do it hopefully he will teach me how, but I believe it is quite simple with the right dream control, he can wild in the middle of the day and do this kind of stuff, the only problem is I would never wake up

On occasion, up to an hour of just messing around before any prolonging techniques cease working. Some short ones kicking around 10 minutes. Keep in mind this is only an estimate in length from attempt to finish. I look at a clock before and afterwards, as quick rc's as well.

Hey im new and was prescribed to these foums by a friend after finding out not all people couold control their dreams. I can all the time is really weird i thought everyone could...oh well but i can stay lucid after i get into deep slee so that prolly at least 2 hours so lucid dreaming is probobly as long as you sleep or even depending on how good of a lucid dremer you are.

if every thing is possible in an LD, maybe its possible to be forever lucid and never wake up agian or something like that
if this is possible than lucid dreaming is becomming dangerous

I dont believe that you can freeze time in your dreams. I think its a mind trick where the dream may seem to last days or weeks, but it is actually the same as days or weeks can pass in a movie...

They did tests like getting lucid dreamers to move their eyes in a pattern every ten minutes, and scientists monitered their eyes in the real world and sure enough, every ten minutes the pattern would occur
