      Detail in LDs

I'd like to know about the detail in LDs. Say when you see a crowd of people and just look at them (not having any expectations of what they should be doing or trying to control them), do they just kinda walk around like zombies, or do they act almost exactly the same as in life? Say in a crowd in the real world you'd see a kid staring at something, a guy looking at a girl (checking her out), or even out of nowhere you'd see a couple fighting. Do things act as they would happen in the real world? And when you do look into a crowd of people, do they look pretty generic or do they look like people you have never seen before? Just wondering. Thanks

P.s. I've only had 1 LD so I have not really experienced anything described above in my dreams. Even in my non-LD dreams all the people either are or closley resemble people I know or have seen throughout the day.

      Google bombing, sorry :/

      Hey, Pyrox!

As for how the crowd would act, I believe that there is a fifty-fifty chance of them acting normally or not. I think (at least, once you are lucid) that your expectations begin to influence the environment, consciously thought or no. For example, you become lucid, and then you notice the crowd. Depending on what you expect (again, not necessarily a conscious thought) may influence them, and if your expectation for them was that they act normal, they may act normal. Then again, dreams are not known for their rationality, so perhaps not. Perhaps you may just have to experience it for yourself and find out. As a side note, I don't think it's possible to not have an expectation of something. For example, if you enter that crowd situation in your dream, saying, "I will not have any expectations, so I can find out how they will act," is already assuming that they will act differently. At least, that's what I think based on what I've read.

As for how people appear, I've heard it's common for people's faces to resemble people we know when we look at them intently.

      Hope I helped!

Lucid dreams aren't entirely unlike ordinary dreams. It's true that you're going to have more direct control over the dream, but the people are unlikely to act like zombies just because you haven't directed them to act some other way (I'm assuming that's what you meant.) Even in a lucid dream, your mind will probably still create a fully functional environment. Like sj said though, dreams often aren't rational, so who knows what they migth end up doing!

The problem with trying to test this in a lucid dream is that there is no definite answer. There's nothing to say exactly what they should be doing, and when you focus on studying a crowd in a lucid dream, they're definitely going to be influenced by your expectations.

      Hope that all makes sense.
