Since I have been keeping a dream journal (11 days now) I have noticed something interesting. Occasionally I will be unsure of the continuity of things. I.E. "Is this a new dream or a part of that one?" Then last night, the real world gets involved and I get even more unsure. Last night I recalled 1 dream and 2 fragments. The dream was lucid, my third and most realistic yet. Rather than type it all out I'll just tell you what you need to know.

      Dream 1:
I had been watching a tornado form and it suddenly became wireframe. This struck me as odd so I did the pinch your nose and try to breathe RC. I could indeed breathe. I was kinda like "whoa" so I did the RC again, and I could breathe through a pinched nose. At this point I became lucid, after a bit of fuzziness it became the most realistic lucid dream I've had yet.

      Fragment 1:
I was in a city somewhere and I remember doing the nose-breathe RC, trying to do it covertly because I was with someone.

Fragment 2: At some point during the night, I attempted the nose-breathe reality check. Evidently I tried too hard as I remember waking up very briefly (like 1 second)(Actually it was more like becoming aware of my physical body whilst in a dream.) Either this goes in Dream 1 and I recovered from it, or it goes with fragment 1.

Dream 1 and Fragment 1 are unrelated, but Fragment 2 goes with one of them, or something completely different. I have no idea but I definitely remember it. My question is: Is being unsure of continuity like this common? Is it something you have experienced? It's not a big deal to me or anything but it is an interesting
curiosity. I just wondered if anyone else had "misplaced" fragments like this.

Good question! Yeah, personally I've had this once or twice. Like, I'll have two dreams, and they're both connected somehow, but I can't remember how. Or, there will be a fragment missing in the middle, or two fragments that I can't put together even though they do go together... but yeah. Continuity in dreams is tricky.
