So, is Lucid Dreaming basically just hacking your own dream to ANYTHING u want? :yumdumdoodledum:
An Idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules.

Technically, that would fall under "Dream Control". Lucid dreaming is simply being aware that you are indeed dreaming, whether you take control of the dream or not.

haha yeah that's how I thought of it: I love using parrallel examples and Methaphors to try and understand Dreaming and Lucid Dreaming.

If a Dream is a Game tha Lucid Dreaming would be Cheating and gaining access to the console. From there you can type any command and it'll be there.

Spawn (Dream) Character, Level Select (Dream Scene)....only Dreams are not limited to a programmed script but to your imagination: that brings near-endless possibilities for me in Dreams.

not to overestimate the Value of our Concrete Knowledge;"Common sense"/Rationality,
for doing so would make us Blind for the unimaginable, unparalleled Capacity of and Wisdom contained within our Felt Knowledge;Subconscious Intuition.

I guess you could call it that, that's a pretty good description if you think about it, though I just like to think of it as a my own little world in my mind...

not really. LDing is more of a cheat code that came with the game. not a hack. sing of like the cheat codes with GTA. o hack it you would have to alter the data that can not be altered in a normal way, as in LDs

I sort of think of Lding as creating your reality.

Nah because cheat codes are limited to whatever cheats were predesigned and ANYTHING is possible in LDs

thats the thing. dreams are predesigned so everything is possible. to hack into a dream would be to break the layer of possibility with a method that isnt normally used, and since everything is already possible its impossible to hack it.

Well, with lucid dreaming you get to not just 'hack' the dream, but also change it completely (if you want to) don't you? Kinda like playing one game & then deciding (part way through) to change the game to something else completely different, or to merge one game into another, or just make up your own game entirely if you like.

Maybe if Neo could completely redesign the Matrix from within, not just hacking it but replacing it with something else entirely different (or atleast, with an entirely different Matrix), that would be more like it?

I downloaded second life (cool game, though I wouldn't pay for premium), and I would say that dreaming is like second life on steroids. I mean, you can do anything on second life, but you have to work/pay to get it, and there's the problem of lag and face counts (blah, blah, blah). In dreaming, if you have good control, you don't have to pay a penny or work on creating stuff + scripts, you just want it and it happens, no loading, no lag, no limited resolutions, and the whole world is yours to freely use.
