I 've used the search button but I couldn't find a topic about "Wanting a nightmare."

So my question is... does anyone know how to trigger a nightmare?
My reason for this is because I want to see as another technique into lucid dreaming just for kicks. If you start out with a nightmare ( as a intent) and than see if you can go lucid . Because no one has the idea in mind to have a nightmare they just happen . But I was wondering if anyone has any tips on triggering a nightmare.I thought about watching a scary movie thinking of something scary but know one has never tried to have a nightmare. So just wondering if anyone had any ideas?

hope that made sense :S

Like you said, watching a graphic scary movie is probably one of the best ways. Or reading/watching something to do with malevolant spirits/paranormal things. Just something that will stick with you when you're trying to sleep in the dark.

My first topic? Yeah, I think so.
The first post sounds similar.

Watch something disturbing would be my plan.

Eat something that will give you stomach cramps or intestinal pain. That's the only time I have nightmares.

Yeah I've also heard eating alot of Meat and/or Cheese prior to sleep will give most people nightmares. If you smoke pot, get pretty stoned while watching a really scary movie; It will impress you even more and the chance that it'll linger in your Mind is bigger.

Also nightmares are pretty speedy, rushy and vidi type of dreams most of the time. So increasing the Vividness of the Dream may also Lead to nightmares. Check my REM-Boosting topic for that. Í've ordered some Calea Dreamherb Extract X10 that will give you very vivid, colorfull and memorable dreams. I've ordered 2 packs of 2 grams extract each, 4 grams, and it should be arriving either today or tomorrow.

Once it's here I'm going to smoke it in a Joint while drinking a Tea steeped from the water soluble extract; The ingestion method that is most effective. It shall give me wild dreams and also perhaps Nightmares.

So Calea Dreamherb might give one nightmares. Or at least overly intense, bizarre dreams that are so unmistakably weird that the likelyhood of you clearly spotting obvious dreamsigns may be much higher maybe? I'm going to find out soon.

If you have a dimmer switch dim the lights a bit that give me nighmares if you dont, find a small light and leave it on while you sleep.

Many people report that B6 tends to make dreams darker. It doesn't always make mine darker, but I have had some wierd ones with it.

Nightmares are mechanisms of Karma, where whatever Evil that has been in us is returned to us in order to spook the living crap out of us so that we may resolve to be better people. Nightmares occur often to children mostly as a warning about taking sybling rivalries and playground disputes much too seriously. Nightmares may continue into adulthood in order to deemphasize over-attachments to any kind of material ambitions -- people dream anxiety dreams of losing what they desire the most. They should realize that they should not obsess so much, but more often than not they don't really ever get the point but continue to have the same anxiety dreams their entire lives.

So how would you trigger a nightmare? Well, I suppose you could start by becoming the worst asshole that you could possible imagine, and then just wait for what you deserve.

Yeah maybe true, I have had a terrible dream recall for months. And last night I slept with a low light on next to my bed. I woke up remembering 2 quite rushy, dreams bordering to nightmares. Nightmares take it a step further though where you are running away from th most grizzly situations and creatures involving really sick and disturbing emotions and feelings. I must also report that I smoked a mixed hashis/weed-joint to become restfull enough to fall asleep. worked great BTW

But last night with the 2 dreams I recall having had were both abnormally weird in nature and somewhat scary. The first was me being chased and hunted down by a squad of evil police officers. I was running through some weird container-office room with both sides open. And from a very high freightcontainer next to it jumped an evil Swat officer heavily armed with a large chrome M14-type of gun, Helmet, Kevlar-armor and a Gasmask. His eyes, through the glass, looked very scary. Like fire burned behind it. I was running through that weird office-tunnel container when he suddenly stood in front of me shooting at me. I had no time to turn around Bullets were being sprayed all around me. I was sure I'd get hit and was about to die.
Then I can't remember what happened next.
Still it didn't even come close to what I define as a nightmare.

The next dream was me in my house in the morning leaving for school ( I don't even go to school ATM ). There was a Militairy Brassband in my Living room just standing there I remember thinking nothing of it and going outside via my Garden door and walking into my block.

The sky was just BEAUTIFULL. Very sunny yet clouded. The sun was just rising in the morning and it made the clouds in the blue Sky look all White, Pink, Orange and purple color-toned. I was amazed and thought it was a wonderfull summermorning sky. But then I realised it was also freezing cold. My breath was visible as a warm cloud and I can remember that Morning chill, that usually sets in at the beginning of teh winter felt sooo incredibly real.( I woke up feeling a tidbit cold, having slept without a T-shirt. )

I suddenly got scared as the Militairy Brass-band, with drums, Brasses and flutes, had sort of crept up on me and Suddenly started to play out loud in the centre of my Block. I got a little paranoyd and scared and walked back to my house. As I did I remember seeing the beautifull Sky even in the ground. Like my block was up very high in the clouds and even when I looked below eyesight level I saw the sky. I stood thyere thinking ''Huh how can that be?'' for a second but then figured it was the reflection of the Sky seen in a large pool of water on the ground. ( Nice one, subconcious Mind: you just were wonderfully resourcefull again in keeping me from lucidity and seeing through the bullshit )

But I'm defenitely gunna sleep with my low light on tonight ( It's an Illuminated Globe next to my Bed ) and see what happens to my dreams. Perhaps the external Level of Light does keep you somewhat more aware and lets you sleep not as deep as you would in complete darkness.
