There was more dream technology out there? More specifically I was thinking of two things. |

Yeah, that would be pretty nifty 8) |

I am lazy myself, but suprisingly do not mind writing my dreams down. It seemed to have fit in perfectly with my schedule... Usually what I did is just lay and roll around my bed for 45 mins before I actually got up.. But now it helps me wake up! But ya man the video format thing would be pretty sweet, but expensive |

Then dreams wouldn't be personal anymore! It's an amazing idea i have thought of before...but everyone would be able to invade the private life of your dreams... |

You could delete the dreams in the morning if they are too private. That might work. |
You'd have to record your brainwaves and then somehow convert them into images... if that's even possible. |
I read that they (they meaning the government) have a device now to proceed the Lie detecter test which is close to reading your rudemantary thoughts. And from what I understand, what we know and what the government knows is approximantly a 10 year differance. |

That's far into the future...recording dreams with technology. |
Just because you could record your dreams wouldn't mean they would be more public than they are if you write them down. Could even be the opposite, have the machine record your dreams during the night but store them in an encrypted form with a password only you know (or a thought perhaps...). I suppose a lot of people here keep their journal in paper-form and that's not very secure. |
And the fact remains that if you were so concerned about your security, you could just not use the machine. |
Hm, Stalker has a point. I've underestimated the complexities of such a device. It'd be nearly impossible to just have it all magical and record your dreams "just like a movie" to a fancy, compact, encrypted DVD |
I'm not sure how it is with dreams but don't the images we see and sounds we hear take the same ways as when we are awake? The technology to feed image and sound data to our brains already exists (cybernetic eyes and ears) and recording those data should actually be easier. I don't know how high quality you would need but it shouldn't be too difficult to get at least a couple of hours onto a DVD. |
